Just an update on this. It appears as though Rangel has reintroduced this bill and as outlined by this source the exact same day that Bush announced the additional 20,000 troops. As the article points out this could be a coincidence but its just seems rather convenient. On a side note does anyone have recent figures on US troops, as in # in service, # of reserves, etc. It would be interesting to see the real numbers and with the premise of an Iran confrontation looming who knows what could happen here.
