When I try to access the board on my main computer it just says the page is not found. Then when I logon to dialup with my other computer I can access the site just fine. My main computer uses a comcast connection. Could they have blocked my access to the site for some reason? I don't understand why this is happening...

Maybe they blocked your original IP address. Did you have any previous warnings, or did you try to create multiple accounts with your other computer?

No, I haven't done anything wrong that I know of. My login name works just fine anywhere else I just can't access the site on my main computer's connection.

What was the last thing you tried to do on ATS with your main computer?

I also just recently had my account banned for no apparent reason. I've had a mod. help me out with finding out why I was banned, but there is still no answer for me in 2 weeks.

I'm also guessing that since it just says the page cannot be dipslayed that your internet connection is off. Try accessing another website with it maybe?

Firewall?

If you're using a firewall on the troubled computer, try to disable it and see what happens.

LOL, the internet connection works just fine. It's ATS that isn't loading. And I can't remember what the last thing that I did was because it has been awhile now...

Okay my guess is that ATS for your connection on your main computer isn't loading right now because, of too much lag or something of that sort.

Try restarting your main computer, and then disabling the internet connection and re enabling it.

It hasn't worked for weeks. I have restarted and done all of that stuff many times. It's one of two things: either ATS blocked my IP for some reason, or my internet provider blocked ATS. Wtf...

My best advice is to u2u a mod about the situation and see if they can't help you figure out whats wrong.
Good luck.

Is it possible for you to hook up a pc where you know it works to your "troubled" connection? See if that works. If it does, then there's definately something wrong with the computer. If ATS have banned your IP you must have been very very bad, cause it's extremely rarely done. I can't see any reasons whatsoever for why your ISP should have blocked ATS.

Try deleting your cookies.

If that doesn't work, contact your ISP. They may have a routing problem, tell them you can't access this site. That is rare, but actually happened to me once. RCN had a problem with their routers that made the IP range of this site inaccessable to my computer.

edit:

Try to do a traceroute and post the results here, that would help in the diagnosis.

tracert abovetopsecret.com on windows

or traceroute abovetopsecret.com on UNIX/Mac

Your virus scanners will cause an issue such as this, as well as if your browser is set to accept cookies. You can try uninstalling your browser (first download the latest edition from the producer), if all else fails, and then reinstall it. Also make sure you don't have any url hijackers on your comp. Run a spyware scanner to be safe.

If that is the trace from your effected computer/connection, then all looks well.

It's likely some issue with security settings on your computer.

If you use AntiVirusKit software,it could do trouble to your connection.
AVKProxy is a part of the avk antivirus, and it make my internet connection going crazy. Just in the task manager, find it and terminate , all is good now.
Check your pc for "bad guys" and try to change your firewall too

Sounds like an enabled cookie problem to me. Diplomat, what browser are you using? Is it different than your main computer?

I use Firefox and have to enable certain sites in order to automatically login. Not sure how IE or others work.

Click around in Tools, Options, Privacy and see if there's an Exceptions button or tab somewhere that allows you to add the site.

You can chose which web sites are always or never allowed to use cookies.
Type the exact address of the site you want to Block, Allow for Session, or Allow.

Then make sure you have Cookies - 'Accept cookies from sites' checked on the Privacy tab.

I have Internet Explorer 6 on both computers. My cookies are enabled. I just tried to add abovetopsecret.com to the main computer's trusted sites, but it still doesn't load. Just says page not found and all that other stuff...
