HI..
I was very very shy in high school. This was in the late 80's.
I had a handfull of friends, we were all from the same "social class" - lower middle class.. I wasn't a jock, not a "prep", I was myself. I
didn't try to dress like the others, jeans and t-shirts mainly. Didn't join any clubs.
I considered myself the "average" student, wasn't heavy, too skinny, ugly etc. I had girlfriends, but they always attended different schools. I
did sometimes feel akward towards some other people, the "rich kids" mainly. I didn't study nearly enough, c average, sometimes a B. Stayed out
of trouble.
I was there to get my diploma and get out. Boy did I make a mistake.
I wish I could go back. I honestly do.
I'd be more outgoing, play sports, join the clubs... I'd do it all. Most importantly, I would study harder and try to learn more.
After high school, I came out of me shyness, I'd talk to girls and people in general, I don't know what happened to change that, other than I
figured, I better talk to people to keep learning and get ahead in life.
I'm 36 now, I consider myself as doing well, but can always do better.
I'm married ( 2nd one ) I have a beautiful daughter from the first marriage.
I love my wife, she lvoes me, we just purchased our first home. We drive new cars and can afford to live a little from time to time.
We have decent jobs, the money is good, but not great. We have some debt, but it's not out of control.
I didn't go to college, she did and earned her degree... I actually make more money than she does.....but shhhh I'm not supposed to talk about
that.
I would say, go to school and make the most of every day, learn everything that you can, especially Math and English.
Hope my story helps, inspires you. Good Luck.
