Just hanging out and reading the forums and I think to myself, everybody seems to discuss what alien species DO NOT like about us and our planet! We are too stupid, violent, selfish, and so on!!!
However, do you think there is anything that they DO like about us and/or our planet?? Maybe they love music, art, emotional beings like us, etc....
I know K-Pax is not the best example, but remember, Prot loved our fruit!!!
Any ideas on this???
Peace on a Sunday,
Mondogiwa

to me an advanced race could certainly show positive and humane interests in our well being.
just as we are fascinated by creatures of all size and intelligence, i think that definitely spreads to a higher consciousness.

I would love to think that any E.T. that may has, is or will visit this little blue-green planet of ours would enjoy some of the untouched beauty --granted that is dwindling to a depressingly low number.

I would like to say our art and music but I have to think that it may be offensive in pitch and appearance to a species that may have evolved to a different set of dominant senses.

There is also the thought that they may like what we consider mundane. Hell, they may like what we consider ugly.

Interesting question you asked here. Thank you for the thought candy.

Spines,
No problem, just nice to know that others out there appreciate the random thoughts. Also, that is a great thought that they may like what we consider mundane or even ugly! ay to think outside the box even more than I could!
Now I am trying to think of ugly things that are actually very cool!!! Very cool post.

I agree, they must enjoy certain things that we do, I guess.
Anyway, they must enjoy what WE already enjoy, like our Music, Art, Constructions, etc.

Now, I can't put this "picture" out of my mind:
"Imagining an Alien headbanging while watching a metal show"

That would be the coolest thing ever! I think we would be surprised to know the truth, what if we have things that they have never seen. What if we've created things here that they never had a need for on their planet, so in that sense would we be considered advanced? Just something to think about.

Headbanging aliens, that's really priceless. There has to be at least one or two.

You shouldn't cut K-PAX. Prot was a very good looking being who spoke many truths.

Am I allowed a one liner here?

KPac..... That film was a total rip off of an Argentinean movie called "A man facing south" ...Err I may have the direction wrong, but it had the identical story of a "visitor" who was placed in a mental institution who in the end disappeared or went home.
ET ... sure he likes Broccoli, Tibetan prayer wheels and of course... Chocolate. Kites and Ukuleles come in a close second.

Well, being that I'm not an alien nor have I ever met one,
I can't say for sure what they would like that our planet offers.

But I'm going to say they probbaly like facets of our art and
music, and probably some of our literature.

Who knows, maybe aliens come here because we have great porn.

I have always tought about this. I have done a few threads on this topic. No one really seems to think about this stuff. They just make the aliens out to be god-like creatures that can magicaly go threw walls and open dors without keys. Most people see the aliens like relegious people see angels. Emotionless beings that simply appear and disappear at will.

I have always thought if these aliens have some form of rap/rock videos on their planet. Do they watch alien porn (female Grey in thong kinda senario), or do they go and throw some hoops? What gives with all this seriousness? Could you imagine a grey dunking a ball? Playing tricks on his friends, or having a farting contest?

How about their flying saucers? Do you imagine grey salesman at a UFO dealer seling the latest UFO model? Or how about in the UFO factory as a line worker?

These are some of the questions that make me think that we might probably are alone, that we are so unique. I sometimes think that if we were to count the number of stars and get an actual number of how many there are, we would be one out of that number who has life.

I just find it so interesting how people view something unknown! There is this perceived veil of impending doom.............why I wonder, maybe somebody does not want us to know how amazing something else could be???

I have no first hand knowledge of extraterrestrial life, just what I read on this forum as you do, but I remain on the fence on many of the issues.

Let's do humanity a favor though, and instead of being pessimistic and doomed, let's just play with the idea that if there is extraterrestrial life, they are going to bring us some really cool stuff AND they want to share our stuff.

Examples:
1. They have the new release album by Elvis, and they want the newest Coldplay!
2. They bring new electro-gravity cars, but want some '56 Chevy Bel Airs in return.
3. They bring new textiles for us to use in clothing, but they really dig our '80's parachute pants in return.
4. They bring us all of DaVinci's and Monet's unknown artwork (they think it is boring and dull) but are searching for some classic Andy Warhol's.
5. They exchange all of their seedless fruits for our seedfull fruits, (they may not have teeth, and think the texture is neat.)

You see, the list is endless, just a way to have fun and think that maybe...just maybe they have discovered that alughter is the key to peace and longevity.

Have a day full of laughter, and you know you want to respond to this with your own embarassing list of exchange items.....go ahead, do it!

Unfortunately I would say they are quite focused. What they like about us and Earth is everything they can observe and study.

Yeah i've thought about this a few times. Aliens probably come here to rekindle with old friends, hurt the human race, steal our Gold, influence policy, or do research... but there HAS to be a bright side lol.

I way too often become cynical about the whole issue because we are so degraded compared to them (majority) and I believe the one's who put us here as very bad. But not all aliens can be horrible- just like not all humans are horrible. I mean regardless of body we are all made up of the same thing- a soul. Good outweighs bad. But with all the negative aside...

I would love to know if aliens listened to music, and would love to know which bands and groups they'd like here. I know homo sapien is really just a model species and that there are tons of people like us all around the galaxies in different stages of development, but what do homo sapien type creatures on other planets listen to? Techno? Rock? Rap? Country? I'd put my money techno. Do greys have music? Reptilians?

I'd also like to know what sort of sports aliens play and wether or not their technology influences their sports. Do they have a form of football or soccer? Or do they play a technologically advanced sport?

Do aliens have cinema? If so, what races create what? Do aliens have cars like ours when they need to go around their cities, or use other transportation methods?

Do aliens have "internet" lol.

Are aliens getting playstation three in March or on the 17th of this month?

All I know is we have such a great ability to be able to dream and recall memory. That's a gift we should embrace more of- and make dream into reality. One day I think it would be awesome to out-source technology, fun, games, and culture to bring back here. I mean if you do believe humans have contact with alien races or the ability to, why not make money with it and make others have fun at the same time? I mean the government did it indirectly or directly for military technology supposadly, why can't civilians do it too? Call me crazy, but that would be a sweet job. Realistic? Probably not for a while.

*That's one huge indicator I have whenever I talk to someone who has supposadly had commucations with the "non-indigenous" in trying to figure out if they are mistaken or legit. If someone really had communications in-depth, why not make money on it or use it effectively to further a goal? With a gift as big as that, even if it was a negative experience, there has to be something you learned from it that you can use positively for your life and others.

I just think back to an episode of Futurama, where the aliens of Omicron-Persei 8 loved a sit-com (Ally McBeal-like) that then went off the air.

Thing is, the signal took so long to reach the planet, that the aliens didn't realize it was cancelled centuries ago, and set off to invade Earth to bring back their beloved series....

Still cracks me up just thinking about it.....
