Unseen War
These pictures were originally posted on the nowthats#edup.com website. They were all posted by American Soldiers in Iraq. The captions are those posted by the soldiers, and are reproduced here is as.
These pictures speak for themselves.
What should deeply concern all in our country who believe in Free Speech, and in particular, that the exposure of the ill-advised, and even reckless, actions of our government, is the best, most necessary, and sometimes only way to keep our Democracy healthy and to maintain our position as the world's protector of Human Rights, both here and abroad, is how easily those rights can be subverted by those who disagree.
Is it not always the truth which pierces most deeply into the hearts of those who cannot or will not face it? And is it not always the ferocity of their response which exposes the depths of their wounds?
If we have become a nation which can no longer tolerate voices of dissent, especially when those voices raise the most serious questions our Democracy can face -- those of our actions in wartime -- if we cannot face the truth of who are, and where we are going as a society, if that truth must be whispered in the darkness, and never dared spoken out loud, then we must all share in the same grave danger: that we are not free, even in what we think is the safety of our own homes.

No story about a battle, no matter how eloquent, possesses the raw power of a photograph. And when it comes to war's ultimate consequences -- death and suffering -- there is simply no comparison: a photo of a dead man or woman has the capacity to unsettle those who see it, sometimes forever.

Souljah, I just lost my appetite. Maybe forever.
I'd like to see the start/stop dates on his porn collection. Was this a favorite hobby of his before or after he went to war.
U.S. troops traded Iraq photos for porn access
The U.S. Army is investigating reports that troops took photographs of dead Iraqis and traded them to a pornographic Web site in return for access to that site, Army sources said Wednesday.
Chris Wilson, owner of the site, told CNN that he had given members of the military serving in Iraq and Afghanistan access to the site for free -- if they provided him with a photograph proving they were serving there.
What kind of psychopath is this guy? Hardly charming.

Unseen War
THESE PHOTOS ARE NOT SUITABLE TO BE VIEWED BY MINORS!
2005 Nobel Prize Winner Harold Pinter wrote a poem about Bush's illegal war in Iraq. The images from that website brought his poem to mind.
God Bless America
Here they go again,
The Yanks in their armoured parade
Chanting their ballads of joy
As they gallop across the big world
Praising America's God.
The gutters are clogged with the dead
The ones who couldn't join in
The others refusing to sing
The ones who are losing their voice
The ones who've forgotten the tune.
The riders have whips which cut.
Your head rolls onto the sand
Your head is a pool in the dirt
Your head is a stain in the dust
Your eyes have gone out and your nose
Sniffs only the pong of the dead
And all the dead air is alive
With the smell of America's God.
