Liked the podcast... I first heard about this Gadianton Canyon about 5 years ago. I also
did at that time quite a bit of research on the subject. Much later, I was on a forum that
said someone from Alien Dave was supposed to be in touch with the supposed Sheriff.
They never posted later whether or not anything was verified or not...
Still.. it's an interesting story..
Nice podcast,, I really enjoyed it.

I first read this story on about.com almost 10 years and also tried to research it with little luck. Then came across this 2006 podcast 2 days ago and decided to look some more, with some results this time.
according to this link: www.prairieghosts.com... , Gadianton Cayon really is supposed to be near Modena, Utah and a haunt of the supernatural Gadianton robbers of mormon folklore. Common knowledge - for mormons, I guess.
As for the State Trooper 'Vic Lundquist' , I found 'him' too...sort of. A 'Victor Lundquist' turned up on an intelius search and a 'Vickie Lundquist' turned up in ussearch and both live/or lived in St George, UT. That's about about 60 miles south of Modena. 'Vickie' is listed as 60 years old as of 2010 and was 21-22 at the time of the story. So she would just barely fit the requirements for a Utah state trooper.

One can easily pay for the public records and contact the individual but,
overall I too think the story is a hoax, and probably fairly recent as well. The big mystery here is why the author never bothered to use a map.
