bbc is reporting that a video has appeared on youtube of l.a. police beating a man in the face whilst they have him pinned to the floor. the accompanying website story says that he apparantly moved his hand near the police officers gun holster, though thats not what it appears to show on the video. however, the man is already on the floor on the bbc clip so its hard to say what happened but that particular clip does show unproved face-punching by one officer.

lets hope this incident doesnt lead to another mass riot as there was after the rodney king video appeared before the public

I'm gonna stick with the police on this one as well as many of the others. It's true that there are bad apples in the force but that is few. Irritates me when the police get all the bad publicity. Lets see what would happen with no police anywhere. Can you imagine how many people would whine to get them back when they've realized that the police actually did good for the community?

Another riot you say? The first one never should of happened in the first place. Why should all the black americans rioted in the first place? Just because rodney king was black is no reason to riot. Change the scenerio around and make rodney king white. Would there have been a riot? Not sure but I don't believe so. This should not be an excuse to riot or for racial blame. The police are doing their jobs and the criminal should have kept with the law to begin with. Let's stop handing these criminals roses and treating them better than the ones putting their live on the line for you!

Bad Apples, huh. Is that why everyday there is something on the news regarding the LAPD?? Have you been to jail and hear the way they speak about all civilians? We are all trash to them and they all love each other. The call each other “Brothers and sisters” and “Family” on TV, yet when there is a shooting or other questionable event, they get to investigate themselves? Police get to investigate police. Look at the shooting in HB of that poor girl who was raped the night before and still in HS. The claim they did not have ANY less than lethal weapons there, when have you EVER seen a police officer without mace or pepper spray? You don’t because it is standard police issue across the country. We gave these people too much power and now we are screwed. We need police but not a legal gang of thugs that protect each other and fu$$ everyone else. If you shot an unarmed person, what would happen? If you are police, you get paid leave, no jail while waiting for trial, really fair, huh. They choose that job, noone forces them to become LEO. I really hate it when they complain about how dangerous the job is, then quit. Yes there are MANY good police but it is like prison or the military, if you are the guy who is not going along with everyone, you are made fun of, beaten up, etc.. same premise for the police. It is like a child that keeps doing something wrong, until you discipline it, the behavior will never stop, but we keep saying you have a badge, you are god. Wake up people. It does not matter how many police we have if the people do not like and cooperate with them. Have you ever had a police officer lie and really mess your life up, go to jail for a few years fighting your charge, lose your house, family, job, etc.. get found not guilty. You get NOTHING except a sorry for the inconvenience. Well if you are not guilty, you should get somethnng if you lost your job, went to jail, etc.. the police get paid to go to court, do you? We pay the police already, do we not? Here in OC we have a thing called penalty assessment, it is 177% more money than whatever your fine is, so if your fine is $ 100, it is really $ 277.00, and then the DMV can take action against you even if found not guilty in court, is that double jeopardy? What do our taxes pay for that we need 177% more for EVERY ticket?
