joining and URl's

I am having trouble joining, and loading BOINC software. I am not sure where to join at, or what the URL is (I don't even know what a url is). PLEASE HELP

also the tutorial is down, so I can view a thing

I think the URL is setiathome.berkeley.edu...

I have yet to be able to connect with them, though.
