About titles

I have noticed that several posters here have titles under their names. What I mean is some are labeled "writers", "scholars", "writer-scholars". I was just curious about who determines this and how. I was also wondering what a member had to do to get such a title. I have noticed that some of the posters with titles seem to have very little input into the site,for example, I saw one "writer-scholar" who had only 933 ATS points.

I was just wondering how all of this was determined and how one went about getting such a title.
