A questions about the democrats.

I'm not a big follower of US politics, but this of course has taken centre stage on UK tv as well as over the pond. So a question if thats ok.

As i'm sure many ATS members will be pleased to hear, the democrats can now open up investigations against what has gone on under Bush's command (correct me if i'm wrong there please?).

Is there anything Bush and his people can do to stop investigations like this? Can they just say no, the same way they seem to have turned a blind eye to public requests for investigations?
