Reagan was effective at liberating millions of people from left-wing tyrants that is why he is hated so bad by the left.

And? Im not a leftist. I dont believe in the phony left/right paradigm.

Also what millions of people did he liberate from left-wing tyrants? Are you refering to the collapse of the Soviet Union? Reagan had as much hand in that as I did as an 8 year old boy.

How about the close trading relationship Reagan inheirited and actively fostered with that Communist bulwark, China? If Reagan was this purist, alturistic saint then why was he content to trade billions of dollars worth of goods with China? How's that fit into your stark, black and white world? Where the left is evil and the right is goodness personified?

Let go of the whole right/left thought structure, it's so out moded and redundant. The sooner you realize that both parties in every Western nation are controlled by the same people the more valuable you will become to your own society.

Leftwing regimes have killed millions of people in Cuba, Vietnam, Cambodia, and in Nicaragua, not to mention hundreds of other countries throughout the world---but I guess that’s ok with you?

No it's not OK with me. Like I outlined above, just because I criticise one side does not mean I give unequivocal support to their alternative. Yes socialist governments are responsible for the deaths of untold numbers of people. But so is your beloved right. Remember Adolf Hitler was to the far right of the political spectrum. Are you comfortable having him in your political "camp"?

What you are glad the GOP is out, you just said that both parties are the same, if so why do you care?

So your politics are swayed by the people you are with at the time, or more likely you know exactly who you are for, but want to convince others to your side, which as far as I can tell is squarely on the left. Are you ashamed to admit you are left?

Only an 8 year old or a left-winger would believe that Reagan didn’t bring down the USSR.

So bombing them bothers you and wining them over with trade bothers you, perhaps you would prefer we surrender to them---sounds like a leftwing ploy. Boy, you are good

*sigh* Yet again do I have to spell it out to you that because I am glad the GOP got handed it's marching orders in the Senate and the House does not make me a Democratic party supporter. I take it as a rejection of the Iraq war and Bush's foreign policy which in no way means that I automatically fall into lockstep with the Democrats. Who most likely will not force Bush to pull out of Iraq before he's good n' ready.

*sigh* My politics are based on individual issues and I take my cue from no one. I actually exercise my right to free thought and often find myself coming down on the right and left of the phony partisan system.

I am pro choice yet against affirmative action. I believe in a totally free market economy yet believe it is a government's duty to provide a saftey net for every citizen. I am an immigrant who firmly believes in multiculturalism yet I believe Australia should tighten it's immigration policy. I believe in small government and low taxes yet believe free medical care to be a universal human right. Uh-oh, classify me.

If it was all Reagan's big plan then why did the collapse of the Soviet Union catch the CIA with it's thumb up it's ass?

I wasn't commenting on China, I was commenting on the hypocrisy of your perceived admiration...neigh adoration of President Reagan and his 'to the death' struggle with the Evil Empire and it's minions.

But since you asked, what would I prefer? I would prefer the United States to concentrate on lifting the millions of it's own people out of poverty before focusing any attention on the lives of people in other nations.

Well that likelihood has just left the building thanks to the duped voters

Most probably you're right. But only insofar as that both the democrats and the republicans are controlled by the same people. If you still believe the Republicans were any different to what the Democrats will be then you are delusional.

There is a huge difference but those peering between the cracks of the American fabric can’t or refuse to see the bigger picture.

Republicans are not favored because they are truthful, they tell it like it is---like telling your wife she is not beautiful---regardless of reality---the marriage will be over.

Not good strategy I admit but the alternative is to lie like the democrats and tell the voters that utopia is just around the corner, all they have to do is run those pesky corperation into the ground with higher taxes.

Evil never comes on the scene looking like evil, it dresses up and looks sexy. Fools fall for it every time as they did in this last election.

Subz, if anyone is "dellusional" it is obviously you. You have no idea what Communism is. Capitalism is not perfect, but it is much better than Communism...and if you think Socialism is so good, how come so many immigrants in Europe are resorting to violence because they say they are being oppressed by the Socialist system in the European countries and there is more violence there than in the United States?....,

Communism murdered over 110 million people, without counting the amount of soldiers that were sent to battle and the people who have died in battle. There has never been a Communist country that has "fought for the people".... they claim they do, but all they do is give all the power to a small group of people.

You might like Communism because it bans all religions and any sort of a spiritual life, but you don't know a thing about Communism. You have obviously lived all your life under a Capitalist system, and if you are just an "average citizen" you would be considered as a rich Capitalist in Communist countries.

Trying to claim that Capitalism and Communism have done the same thing to the people is an insult, and it shows your ignorance and inexperience with Communism.
