There used to be a time when a man owned 10 acres of land and would sew his own crops and raise his own livestock for the preservation of his family. And, whatever was left over was sold at market.

Nowadays, that man barely exists anymore because someone figured out how to make big profits doing what that man did.

Unfortunately, that someone has also decided to increase production of these goods by injecting hormones into cows to make them create milk 365 days a year or to make that steak just a little bit meatier or in chickens to create more eggs more often.

Not to mention that 90% of the foods we eat contain unnatural, synthetically created substances.

Is it affecting us? It's starting to. Children are maturing earlier. There are more and more reports of ADD and ADHD, which are problably created from all the hormones and preservatives injected into the foods. Sperm counts are lower. And, those who are taking viagra aren't in ther 50's and 60's, but in their 20's and 30's!

Sure, there's the FDA, which is supposed to curtail these things...but the FDA is nothing more than a another political body that is controlled by corporate america's money.

Look at the Nutrasweet fiasco. Nutrasweet, which has recently been proven to create cancer, was PASSED by the FDA. And, right after the FDA passed it, the head of the FDA quit and became an officer of the corporation that makes Nutrasweet.

(Sidenote: Did you notice that companies dont use nutrasweet anymore, or if they do, they dont emphasize it on the labels like the used to?)

So, I think it's time for us to go back to being that man with 10 acres of land making his own food and life for his family.
