I wont be biased....whatever else you said in your paragraph. All a matter of oppinion. At least someone with a liberal mindset has some knowledge of the problems in society. Better than half of the people in the country already. So be what you want to be, just understand that humans all have differences of oppinions. There will always be fighting because of that. You dont have to go overboard in the fight though becuase opinions are just as valid from one person to the next. So when some people flip their lid and start name calling, thats whats wrong. Not the fact that you are conservative ore liberal, but that you cant come to grips with reality so you lash out at people.

Yeah, I can see how much the liberals love the environment. They love it to death. Liberals have cost millions of critters their lives and vegetation has gone up in smoke by the thousands of acres because of their feel good but stupid way of thinking. Shallow thinking, knee jerk reaction, coupled with junk science is a bad combination.
There are some things about which I agree with you in regard to the environment, for example, the Everglades are slowly dying and drying up, and I feel that is because of human interaction in the area, but I haven't noticed anybody fix the problem. Both sides have had a chance and neither have done it.

One more time, to make sure you understand, the not cutting done of trees has costed us more than had cutting and thinning. Ask Tom Daschel. While he insured the rest of the nation couldn't do the right thing, he added a rider to exempt his state from the regulation in a piece of legislation. There's a political liberal for you.

As far as hemp. I agree with you.

TC, do you really think it takes "Soviet" influence for a number of your countrymen to come to the decision that liberal policies are the way forward? They can devise their own opinions through analysis of the political scene and through independent thought.

People everywhere decide on their political leanings because of what they see as morally right, or what they think makes more sense. Those voters who do not think about their political stance are most likely influenced by popular media. How could the Soviet Union have penetrated American society in such a way, and how could they persistantly get away with indoctrinating the people of a foreign country?

Bring US down? Geee, how much lower could we possibly get right now? Liberation can only better this country, not bring it down. There are certain things/views(and I know saying this is gonna stir you all to pieces) but there are certain ways about communism that I believe could put this country in order. NOT that I agree with communism completely!! I do love this country, it is my place of birth..but it could stand a better government system that's for damn sure!

I believe that if human beings were liberal during the Neanderthal period (some thing I do not know much about so enough said on that) I do not believe we would have been the dominant species on this planet.

Liberalism is a sneaky weapon the communists have used to turn democracy against itself.

The idea you have to be a part of either the Democratic or Republican is stupid. Why lump yourself into one group? I can see how there should be some guidelines to follow if one canidate's motives contradict that of another's, but some people have this idea that if you considered Liberal/Conservative that you in some way bad. Being open minded is the best choice anyway.

Also, some people seem to want to judge me too quickly. I don't like George Bush. Oh my, does this mean I'm a squirming pile of Liberal pig#? Some people seem to think this, just because I oppose a person who happens to be a Republican. The fact is, I'm NEITHER Liberal or Conservative.

Did it take Soviet influence? No, all it took was people who refused to think with the brain but feel with their shifting emotions, coupled with people who want more from others without contributing an equal amount back to come up with the basic principle of liberalism. Its just that the Soviets injected what we know as liberalism today into our culture many decades ago. This is no secret. It isn't by accident that the universities were the first targets, thereby stealing the cildren, therefore the future. Even in my little ol' state, one of our most well-known universities was taken over by the liberal scum, as it was a good school but much cheaper than the northern schools. Many yankees came to it because their parents could afford it.

So, yes, the Soviets had a large part in shapiong the destruction of our society and our nation, but as you point out, non-thinking people of any type could have done it, too.

Magestica, you say that libealism can only make the nation better, but you give no reasons for this position. And, no, no parts of communism can help better our nation. Going back to the ways that made us strong, not going deeper in that which is destroying us, is the way to save the nation.

Thomas Crowne, I am afraid that you are using a tad bit of exageration in your remark on how cutting down forests saves them. It is a misleading bit of anti-environmentalist rhetoric. Cutting down a forest will keep it from burning down, in the same way that killing a man will keep him from the fate of spontaneous human combustion. Instead we need to allow for controlled burn, as there was in Nature for millions of years, a long perfected strategy of sylvan renewal. Environmentalists are just as much at fault for this destruction of the forest, but in a different way than the clear cutting of the stands of old growth forest allowed by the republicans. And I think everyone can agree on hemp

As people have said before, and I am just reinforcing: Liberalism is not a socialist tool for undermining America. How the heck could it be? Liberalism was around long before Lenin and will be around for a long time after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Quaker Abolitionists in America were liberal, yet had nothing to do with socialism, in fact the term had not been invented yet. The progressive, reformist movement led by people such as Upton Sinclair and William Jennings Bryant had some socialist influences, but this was long before the Soviets were blacklisted by America (yes it was us who made communism Americas enemy, they did nothing to desrve it). The Republicans used to be this nations Liberal party, and now the roles have switched, as politics is wont to do. There were liberals in America from Thomas Jefferson up until Ralph Nader and there will continue to be Liberals until the Conservatives create their long dreamt of Dictatorship.

No Thomas, it was not the Soviets who used Liberalism as a means of subverting America. It was the Conservatives who used Soviets as a mean of undermining Liberalism.
