The head of BAE has nixed the idea of imminate merger between the UK based defense company and one of its American rivals for the next several years. Citing opposition to further consolidation in the defense industry.

Mark Ronald said the political climate in Washington was not conducive for consolidation in the industry.

Well thats to bad IMO I would have liked Boeing to get a foot hold in Europe in the not to distant future. The next stepping stone would have been EADS.
