Why can't I write right?

Type, type...thats all I do anymore.

I type at work, I type at home, I type on the ATM, and on the cell phone.

Then, just 5 minutes ago, I couldn't make a P.

And I am NOT referring to a prostate symptom!

I was not able to make a P for a minute..With pen to paper, I was writing, yes, actually longhand style, the word "replication", which, just now, I typed in about 1 second..

But, I had to "remember" how to make a P, on the paper. It took me a few moments.

Is writing becoming a lost art?

I can't make a P.
I'll probably lose my Q's too.

Then I won't be able to C.

Anyone else feel "crippled" sometimes, when all of the sudden you are asked to sign your name?

Without a doubt. I try to avoid handwriting at all costs. When I have notes for classes, I often type them up. I end up elaborating beyond comprehension, and I find in the time it takes me to get my thoughts down on paper, I have lost them. I can normally type as fast as someone is talking in a normal conversation, with little error, so typing is a fitting solution.

I get everything I want on paper without the hassle and time restraint.

I've had a few occasions where I was handwriting and could not remember a letter in writing. I often print, much easier.

I dug up some old notes of mine taken in longhand from years ago.
I wondered who wrote that? The handwriting was pretty good. ( I was never that great at penmanship). Plus I am a lefty, so I had to compensate for the binding of the notebook too..

But now, my writing is so bad, I could fill out a prescription with the worst of them.

And the evolution of my signature..I've gotten pretty lazy..
Pretty much, first letter, followed by some squiggle things.
Then the last letter..nothing legible in btween..

Ditto!

I volunteer with youth sports as a coach and official, so I often have to sign my name to sheets. I make the first letter legible, while scribbling some nonsense. The last name I start with a capital W that is completely legible, followed by more jibberish and a nice N at the end.

It works. Short & Efficient!
