While there is currently a push for EU to expand their own military capacity, which can be found through a basic google search. What most don't realize is Europe has the ability to use other militaries for their own goals. An example of this would be the EULEX mission to Kosovo. In which the US has lent the use of their military for European purposes, such as spreading EU ideals into Kosovo in a push to expand the bloc.

Another thing which is not widely known is EU High Representative on Foreign Policy Javier Solana was also NATO Secretary General during the 90's. During his tenure, he successfully split NATO down the middle. In that, one half is controlled through the Atlantic Branch in Virginia, while the other half was circumvented to the WEU in Brussels. If a emergency was ever declared across the bloc, all military command would be directed through his office. Which was done through a WEU general assembly recomendation, which you can read all about here.

Here is a strange event taking place in the swedish army. They have been est a new top secret group called SOG. They have change the swedish logo to a brand new one... a bit strange.

Activities:
The rest of the armed forces normally see the special unit's personal intervention in the form of the bodyguard of the Chief of Defence Staff and senior managers within the Armed Forces when they visit an operational area. But special forces most frequent use is to operate in multinational efforts to resolve the primary tasks of combat (Direct Action), intelligence gathering (Special Reconnaisance) and military support (Military Assistance).

In each patrol, the operator has its own specialty such as sniper, medic, demolitions expert, radio operator, or air support. The operators have a broader base than regular soldiers, but also one or two special areas where they are exceptionally skilled.
The dressing maintains a high readiness to Late deployable for operations within a radius of 600 mil from Brussels, and operate in desert, jungle, subarctic or urban environments. Unit's efforts will, by request of the UN or the EU, but must then be sanctioned at the political level.

It's inferior... we (EU) don't have alien technology

On a more serious note I do think it's really inferior because the US have worked on projects the countries/ EU could probably only dream of (just look at the craft in the Cash/ Landrum case - I don't think the EU has some similar type of craft and that was even back then in the 80's!!) !!
