Presidents Wilson, Roosevelt, Truman, Johnson, Nixon, and Reagan, as well as the State Governors of Indiana, Nevada, and Arizona also enacted either national or statewide changes in how daylight sayings time is observed.

National laws regarding DST were enacted, repealed, or modified in 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1942, 1945, 1966, 1972, 1986, and 2005.

This is not some conspiracy about how Bush controls Time....

This Act screams corruption:

Limited Liability for producers of gasoline additives

Reserves in Alaska are now open for drilling

Largest tax subsidies for nuclear and fossil fuels; $4.3 and 2.8 billion respectively

No tax subsidies for wind, solar, geothermal, etc.

Tax credits for commercial building owners that put in bigger air conditioners

and as Hillary Clinton pointed out the Act:

"Exempts hydraulic fracturing from coverage under the Safe Drinking Water Act"

"Exempts oil and gas construction sites from stormwater runoff regulations under the Clean Water Act"

and

Removes moratorium on oil drilling off most of the U.S. coast by authorizing an inventory of oil and gas resouces there

And then after the Act good and screws the environment and coats the pockets of energy tycoons...

A little voodoo science...

...if we change what it says on the clock...

...the people will magically go to bed earlier...

...less energy will be used!

Well, actually congress changed Daylight Savings Time, since they have to pass the bill before the president has a chance to sign it.

Agreed. It was a long run on sentence as it was and I didn't want to make it longer. Call it laziness and for the sake of readability. Assume that I meant :

That was congress.

Why is this dumb? The amount and timing of daylight varies throughout the year. It'd be dumb to not have something like daylight savings time through the year. We save huge amounts of energy by having people shift their schedules to coincide with the variation in daylight.

I hate daylight saving time, but beyond that Bush had nothing whatsoever to do with the freedom fries phenomenon.
