After World War 2, the CIA gave the Sicilian and Corsican Mafia control over the heroin trade in Europe in return for the use of their thugs to break up the radical, communist dockworker's unions in Italy and France.

I think this may be on the right track. Maybe chronology is not shuffled after all

This 'white paper' re: China involves Acheson, etc..

www.law.nyu.edu...

In the spring of 1949, Secretary of State Dean Acheson asked his staff to prepare a document known as the China White Paper, which was intended to explain how this had happened and to provide a history of US policy toward China. A model of objective analysis, the thousand-page study portrayed the Nationalist forces as corrupt and incompetent in the face of a determined, disciplined Communist challenge. Its deeper message was that there are limits to American power. Unfortunately, that lesson had to be learned again a generation later in Vietnam. And the US experience with Russia in the past decade has taught it yet again.

I don't have time to find the "real reason" though. I'll try to check back in when I get some free time (1am some night). Hopefully we'll be on the next question by then

Happy holidays to all

'Twas the day after Christmas
on the keyboard I pound.
No Holiday Hints,
Not a clue, could be found.

I've researched an hour
whenever I could.
But I feel like I'm banging
my Head on some wood....

I've read about Dolphins
I've read about (Harry D.)White.
I've read about powder
and Nationalist Chinese' plight...

I've researched the plots
I've researched the spies,
I've researched the Chinese
their links and their ties...

I've asked all my family
I've queried my friend,
I've googled all pages
from beginning to end...

I dove into links
The good and the bad
I think that this game
has driven me Mad.

Grasping at straws, I jumped ahead in

the Jim Marrs book, I'm trying to get through,

'THE TERROR CONSPIRACY'
(since it was a game sponsored book)

to PART II- 'WAR FOR OIL AND DRUGS'

and tried:

asianoil
caspianseaoil
caspianoil
indochinaoil
indochinapipeline
persianoil
thegreatgame
councilonforeignrelations

no joy

Another section, which I guess I should check out
from the same chapter- 'US COMPLICITY IN THE WORLD DRUG TRADE'

I fear this game has gone askew.

The time is perfect for a clue.

HUNT can help us... me and you.

Nothing sticks like Elmers glue.

(OK... so, I'm no Jbird when it comes to poetry, but you get the point)

And within the cracks,

The answers fall through;

But are oblivious to me,

Jbird, Zwoop, and you;

So a calling was made,

To end the charade;

To put an end to his madness,

To end the game, I'm afraid;

So it has been said,

Not by me but by you;

Too much time has been spent,

And the end is due.

-----------------------

Okay, so Jbird had the best one.

Well I'm not going to show myself up by attempting to rhyme.
This question is just too bloody hard, I throw myself at the feet of the amigos and beg for a clue to end my torment or else I may find myself seeking solace in the white powder (sherbert that is
) .

This question is too tough to crack as it stands.

I'm betting another clue will be given Monday evening sometime, right before I have to go back to work on Tuesday and have no time to play.

I smell a conspiracy

P.S. (not really)... c'mon. give us few a little clue before all the ringers come back!

I think this game has dragged on so long that the Amigos have forgotten all about us.
They should now offer hair replacement therapy as a prize because I have several bald spots where I have torn my hair out in frustration at this question.

Well I was just considering whether I should give this game the last rites but it seems peeps are coming back to it now.
Maybe just maybe we will get a clue to get us past his bloody question.

I wouldn't hold my breath. It seems the admin are avoiding this thread like the plague. I guess it didn't take off like they had thought it would.
