An Iranian government official calls the attack of 9-11 a 'make-believe scene'. Deputy Culture Minister Mohammad-Hadi Homayoun claims that inside explosives were used to destroy the towers.

Tehran- An Iranian government official on Friday accused the US of orchestrating the attacks of September 11, 2001, saying New York's World Trade Center towers were actually blown up by a bomb rather than planes hijacked by terrorists. "What we watched on the TVs regarding the slamming of two planes into the New York Twin Towers, was in fact a make-believe scene," Deputy Culture Minister Mohammad-Hadi Homayoun was quoted by state news agency IRNA as saying, in an address to the Iran-Russia Dialogue among Civilizations Conference in Moscow.

"The sky-scrapers were destroyed through bomb explosions and afterwards the massive US media propaganda and the crusade issue began," the minister said, making reference to the controversial remarks by US President George W Bush outlining a "crusade" against terrorism following the September 11 attacks.

To be honest, I personally find it pretty disturbing to notice an Iranian official making such a loose assertion without any kind of evidence.

Not to speak of the fact that it doesn't contribute to anything apart from worsening relations between the West and Iran.

i think he sums it up pretty nicely there.

plenty of stuff around on the net to proof it if you'd like

maybe challenge some real arguments in this subject instead of picking out easy ones.

Example: how can a tower cruble and come down in virtual free fall speed?.
(the same speed a marble would fall trough clean air)

The Iranian govt. must have read about holo planes as well. They starting to believe it as well.

I find it interesting that this story has been voted up without even one comment until just now.

I even found an Iranian source for the pronouncement.

The 9/11 phony attack theories have abounded from holographic planes "hitting" the WTC, to explosives being planted years in advance, to a cruise missile hitting the Pentagon, to Air Force fighter jets shooting down the plane over Pennsylvania.

Can anyone wonder why responsible nations would shudder at the thought of Iran having nuclear weapons?

He's only saying what many people (including many Americans) believe and argue about on this very board. It's not terribly diplomatic, but then the US is trying to manoever Iran into a war, just like Iraq.
