NASA to decide Hubble's fate

NASA is to debate whether or not to send astronauts on a mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. If the telescope does not get repaired it is only expected to last another 2-3 years. One of the major factors on the decision is whether to risk flying the astronauts without having the International Space Station as an emergency shelter.



I think it would be a great shame not to maintain the Hubble but having said that its not really worth risking lives over, maybe they could re-schedule next year after the winter.
