No Halloween For Sex Offenders

NY state parole officials will be keeping a close eye on a estimated 1700 sex offenders in all five boroughs.
Between 3PM on Halloween and 6AM the next day they are not permitted to leave their house. They cannot wear masks or costumes and they can not open the door to trick or treaters.

Investigators will conduct unannounced home visits and curfew checks and then make follow-up phone calls to paroled sex offenders' homes throughout the night to guarantee they do not slip out in search of victims.

This should make some parents feel at ease.
I wonder if other cities in the US are doing the same?
