No it wasn't down for me today nor have I had problems with connecting to ATS during the last several months. I live in the Philly area, use IE6 and have a Verizon 3.5mbs/s connection. Strange that others are having problems.

Now that I know how to run a trace route,
what exactly does it do, and how does it help?

Tell me about it, it's so hard to be me sometimes, *looks for pin to puncture the dangerously large and ever expanding head*.

Hmmmm.....curious. I got an email at work today from MIS dept. saying the network was under a viral attack and may have to be taken offline. I was wondering if it was just in our company or internet wide.

Now i'm even more curious....

I surprisingly enough enough haven't run into any problems today on ATS. Odd, because I have encountered the problem before. Sucks when it happens, but as long as we can send in the reports of it, that should help.

Yes, DG and Westie, it is a hard life.

They don't have the emoticon I would like to use for this.

*Thinks about the response options... decides to run*

It lets you see where you connection is being dropped.

In other words, you can see if it drops between you and your ISP, or from the ISP to a router, from that router to the next router, finally to the site you desire.

It's good for seeing what part of the network (everything between your browser, and the page of ATS, or other, that you connect to).

Was that any help? I understand networking, but can't explain it too well, heh.
