They where talking about Thermobaric or Fuel Air Explosive devices from what i understand from reading that.

Are the Israeli's now using thermobaric devices/FAE on civillians now?

That has to be an all time low even for Israel. It's actually a myth that Thermobaric/FAE devices cause less harm and have smaller radius of death then regular HE(High Eplosive) devices becuase FAE/Therm devices send powerfull shockwaves which can kill/damage people outside it's inital blast radius.

Many doctors were trying to find out why so many had specific leg injuries in the recent Leb.war...now they blame DIME.

Read this today the key question is who do you trust?

Palestinian / Lebanese doctors who are reporting this but not on a scientific basis or US/Israel who as we know will refute all allegations?

This needs properly looking into and seems to be a job for the UN.

Hopefully US/Israel have not been using civilian populations as a test bed for new weaponry

For those unfamiliar with thermobaric weapons and their effects, here's a passage, albeit from World War Z, that describes it.

"...You'll hear about heat and pressure, the fireball that continues expanding, exploding, and literally crushing and burning everything in its path. Heat and pressure, that's what thermobaric means. Sounds nasty enough, right? What you won't hear about is the immediate aftereffect, the vacuum created when that fireball suddenly contracts. Anyone left alive will either have the air sucked right out of their lungs or--and they'll never admit this to anyone--have their lungs ripped right out of their mouth..."

Since every weapons system is moving toward precision deployment with a minumum of collateral damage why isn't a weapon possessing limited radius more humane than previous ones?

You haven't lived till you've seen the mangled body parts as the result of a 2,300 pound shell from the USS New Jersy exploding in some vill or the after math of a B-52 carpet bombing with 500 pounders!

We used to just blow the hell outta everything to get the bad guys. Unfortunately that wasted a lot of non-combatants in any given battle zone. Starting in 1991 in Iraq you saw one the beginning of "oneshot, one kill" as the snipers say. A single laser-guided munition to take out one building or airplane on a runway. No need to obliterate a whole city when we can paint the target building with a laser and guide munitions in by remote control.

Of course precision has it limits. In Nam the gomers used innocent civvies as shields in vills so we couldn't get them without hurting the innocents- their own people.

That sounds similar to the tactics of the Iraqi Insurgency,hiding amongst civilians...not only a good place for them to hide,but they also think it gives them more support when civilians get killed.
