My cat usually comes up and takes a few sips out of my scotch every night. I don't really mind, but does this harm him? Should I keep him from doing this?

I don't know if it harms him. But a cat only gets drunk once and never again. They learn from their mistakes, unlike humans and dogs

I have an old black cat that likes to lick the top of the can of beer after each sip you have.
He also drinks from glasses with a bit of booze left over from the night before.

Funny you mention scotch because that seems to be his favorite.

I really think the cat would stop before it does any harm, but if it starts staggering around and slurring it's meows you should cut it off.
Nobody likes a surly cat........:shk:

I had a goat that loved gasoline and we had to be carefull because it would try to chew through jerry cans of fuel for the vehicles.
It was never pleasant trying to get a gassed-up goat away from the ass.

I don't think it really affects him, he's just interested in everything I do. He's fairly new, I got him in like January and he's the most curious cat I've ever had, he wants to look at everything and what everyone is doing and inspect everything.
