As one of the three guests on my show tomorrow night (Friday) I have RAEL the leader of the Raelian movement talking about his beliefs and why he
started the Raelians. (See www.rael.org)
They made the news recently with their "adopt a clitoris" campaign, and have long been associated with human cloning.
I had their UK spokesman on my show a few months ago, and it was a very interesting and entertaining feature, and i'm sure Rael will prove just as
interesting tomorrow night.
Please tune in from 9 p.m. UK time on Friday and if you have any questions, e-mail them to studio@nettalkradio.co.uk

You can't just throw that out there without explaining what the hell it is.
Can it be explained without being vulgar? It sounds like a campaign I might be interested in.
Peace

To summarize the Raelian Movement:
They believe that we were created by the Elohim, a space-faring people more advanced than humanity by 25,000 years, who were, in turn, created by
another older spacefaring people, who were created by a different even older spacefaring people, etc...
This is why they are very pro-cloning. They believe it is our destiny and duty to create yet another life and seed some other place with it
eventually. But before that point they want to create an embassey on Earth, to welcome the Elohim when they return (along with Jesus, Mohammed, The
Buddha, etc) sometime before the year 2035. The purpose of the embassey is to provide a neutral ground and airspace for them that does not intrude or
endorse any particular country.
There are two related foundations, "Clonaid" (clonaid.com) which is supposedly unaffiliated with the Raelian Movement, despite the fact it is run by
a Raelian (Dr. Brigitte Boisselier) and shares the same beliefs. The other is "The Raelian Foundation", which is set up to support Rael financially
so that he may devote all of his time to the Raelian Movement in lieu of working.

SpeakerofTruth - you say that Rael is an Athiest, but does he not have the same right to speak as someone who is a believer in a faith that has
seemingly less real evidence?
As someone who likes to give everyone the same opportunity on my show, I am sorry to hear you won't be listening, but I would make the comment that
perhaps you of all people SHOULD be listening as you need to know what HE has to say, not just what the media says about him, before making your
judgement.

Ross
Well, that's true. Some of what he states is not entirely false. I do believe that their has been some manipulation with the human gene pool. I also
think that cloning may be a way that God is working throuh science to bring about his kingdom, but that is all conjecture.
Ross, by all means, my "animosity" in that post was not directed towards you having him on your program. My biggest "beef" with him is that he
denies a creator, an ultimate being.
As far as being a "believer in a faith that has seemingly less real evidence," I can tell you that I do not practice a faith, per se. I am Christian
in that I believe in Jesus Christ, but I am by no means an orthodox Christian. Most would probably label me a Gnostic or "new age"
Christian.

Hey Ross,
Us Yanks don't get much in the way of UK radio besides the BBC, and even then it's pretty much just news coverage on NPR. Are you could to make a
podcast or a mp3 or something so those of us in the US can listen in?
I currently think the Raelians are a bunch of nuts, but like you said, I like to give everyone the chance to speak their mind and tell their side of
the story before casting final judgment. Their shpiel on your show may not change my mind, but I'd like to say I gave them a chance to be heard.

Point of clarification, SoT, the Raelians very much believe in a creator, but rather not that they should be worshipped. They think this because their
creators allegedly told them they don't want to be worshiped, they just want to be loved. That sounds kinda like a long-haired bearded man I once
read about.
BTW, they also believe in Jesus and the other prophets, and that they were created by humanity's creators as a direct representative. Soooo... really
you have no reason to have any beef with them.

Thanks for clarifying those points.
I personally DO believe in a creator, but I happen to think that the worst thing that ever happened to Christianity - was Christians themselves and
all the in-fighting that goes on in the so-called name of religion!
I believe that if I wish to talk to my creator, I can do it just as easily from my own room as I could from any church building.
"Thelibra" - I do get some podcasts up here on ATS but have had a lot of problems with the uploads of late, but will do my best to get more up in
the future.

How very true!! You see, that is one of the biggest hang up many "christians" have. They think that all prays exit a buiding that they call
"their church." You can pray and worship anywhere you want. God is always present and hears, sees, and knows all.

I'd love to hear a podcast of this interview. A couple of young guys down the road from me in Mooresville, Indiana recently did a
documentary on the Raelians. It was filmed with hidden cameras when
the two young men "infiltrated" the Raelian group.
I don't believe it's ever been distributed, but if you google up Raelians+Abdullah+Hashem, there's a lot of info out there about it.
