Wow, really? I had no idea. I have never read anything from a "survival group" before. I wasn't jumping on anyone, I just really didn't know and
found the obscurity in Ceci's comments interesting as she was calling for openness, with which I totally agree.
Thanks for overtly stating what to some (but not all) might be obvious.
I just know I want to be prepared should anything happen in this fragile (on several fronts) situation in which we find ourselves, so I started
preparing. No supremacy here.

Oh, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular, BH, I just wanted to head off arguments before they derailed the thread from it's real purpose.
Yeah, here in Texas we had some "survivalists" in Waco a while back, big ol' mess... It happens. That might have even been the group Ceci was
referring to.
But the important thing to remember is that it's not the point of Survival to do this sort of thing. Madness and Survival CAN AND SHOULD be mutually
exclusive. In fact, it's a pretty safe bet that if one is nuts or bigoted, that the chances for survival are going to be significantly lower.

regardless of the uhm..negatives...
If I am to survive a natural or man-made disaster...I better be thinking ahead of the game. If that makes one a supremist...?
So enamoured am I with the idea of a forum for the Survivalists...I'm already doing up a list of the steps I took when I started getting prepared
here in vancouver bc. Being on a tight budget too...it doesn't have to cost a kidney to be prepared and some of the items that you will find you'll
need most are pretty basic and simple.
Love the idea of PODcasts or videocasts of tips and "how tos"...really is a great idea.
Being prepared isn't about "one-upping" anyone either...there are those who don't give it a single thought and think those that do are nuts or
have a secret agenda.
Some will survive and others won't. I'd rather be a survivor frankly. Even if some think I'm just a bit dramatic...no harm in being prepared. None
at all.

So IF someone thinks that this is what a survival forum on ATS would be ... and IF someone thinks ATS is full of these kinds of people ... then why
would they want to be bothered to post here ???
IF someone thinks that little of their fellow members ... then they shouldn't be here. Seriously, to think that of all/most fellow members is
insulting to them and a serious waste of time and effort on the part of the person who thinks that of all/most others here.
IF someone thinks that is what ATS is all about .. they should not even be here.

If you've gone through the threads, we've been pretty transparent. Hell, it's in the ATS terms and conditions that we can't be all bigotted like,
isn't it?
Ceci has a habit of implying (or outright saying) that everyone but her a white-supremacist-commie-nazi looking to oppress or murder people of
whatever ethnic group she happens to champion at the moment. Of course, she edits her point usually down to implications like the one I took issue
with, and plays the victim. BH, you've been to her Race Issues thread, you should know her modus operandi by now.

A very good idea. I cannot wait until this becomes organized.
Kudos to "thelibra".
The old saying of "survival of the fittest "doesn't just mean physically fit.
Being mentally fit to handle the type of unsavory situations that may arise in our
not-to-distant future will give us all a leg-up on survival.
Knowing where to go.
Knowing how to do things.
Knowing what not to do.
With the varied background experiences of our fellow ATS members, we can help
ourselves while helping others.
"Aah, the community!"

The suggestion for a new forum has been noted (and this thread seems to be spinning off topic a little).
Please add any further suggestions for new forums or votes and comments on same to this existing thread:
