What a start! I was thoroughly entertained by the first two episodes and can't wait until next saturday when we find out who lives and who dies. But first, here are my complaints so far.

Firstly, the idea to bring in suicide bombings into the series was utterly predictable(at least it was for those who are familiar with Moores previous work) and was a bit too contemporary. Of course it's not the first time Suicide attacks have taken place, there was a Psilon who blew himself up in season one I believe, but since they are technically immortal, it doesn't have the same impact I guess.

Secondly, the Idea that Rosalyn and Zerrick are dead is a horrible thought as those two characters are my faves on the show. I hope the gunshots are the marines ambushing the Psilons, or else I forsee a rather bleak future for this series(at least in my mind).

Lastly, I want to complain about the horrible fat suit that Capt Adama was wearing. It just didn't look natural.

Now I liked a lot of what happened in this episode, especially the induction of Sharron as a fleet officer. There was lots more, but I need to watch it again to remember.

IN the "Next time on BSG" thing they showed Rosalyn, so I know they don't kill her off. I'm pretty sure the gunfire we heard was just the NCP ambushing the Cylons out of guilt for what they've done.

Good season so far though, and honestly, the whole suicide bomber thing akes sense in this scenerio.

Edit: More time to write

I downloaded the whole sereis and watched it over the past 2 weeks. Watching the progression, it seemed like a natural way for the series to go. I hope it makes people have a better understanding of the situation that is currently going on in the world, and for the opinion "what if it was me?"

But, unfortunately, most people with the attention span to follow BSG would have already come to that conclusion long before the show even started.

I hope so. Rosalyn and Zerrick are my favorite characters on the show aside from the Cigar-smoker Baltar(as opposed to the Hand Wringing Suicidal Baltar). If he turns out to be a Cylon.... that would be nutz, though would open up a whole host of potential plot holes that the writers will have to dance around to satify continuity freaks like me(I'm only a freak on serialized shows though).

That's what it was too predictable. What about the Peacenik group? When are they gonna show their face?

I was thinking that as well. Remember, the main brain behind this show was the same guy who was behind Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This type of stuff is his hallmark.

Well, it's gonna be on NBC soon so hopefully more and more people will start to follow it. What ratings does NBC get these days anyway?

I'm betting that if there was any doubt about the motives of the Cylons, those peaceniks would be well over their holier than thou kick. Actually, I'm betting that they were done with that after the nuclear holocaust on cloud 9.

When will it air on NBC? I hope it does well, because NBC has a habit of canceling shows that don't have a huge debut. Do you think there are enough BSG fans to keep it going?

And I could never stand Baltar. He was always a bit sniveling and rat-like. The most annoying thing though is how tall and hot Caprica 6 is, and how short and funny looking he was standing next to her.

Thats what he is like the majority of the time, when he gets the cigar in his mouth and a bottle of booze, he goes through a complete personality shift. You've seen it haven't u?

I've seen it, but I attribute it to the way a rat, when full, and complacent, will become more agressive and dominant. He always falls back into his little hole though after a dog barks at him.

Honestly, another shocker was that Ellen Tigh wasn't a Cylon. Baltar left it wide open for her to be a possible Cylon. Not only that, but she was acting like a freakin' Cylon when Commander Adama was shot, to the point where she almost had Tigh destroy the Fleet integrity.

This rat is gonna get rabies soon. Frankely, I think they should play that character out as a sort of Anti-Chritonesque villain, insanity and extreme disregard for his own bodily well-being rolled up into an almost suave type of guy.

It was way too obvious. Even moreso then the Suicide bombers. I'm basing this on Moore's personality and not any hints in the show. I like her character and I was kind of hoping beyond hope that she'd turn into a second Psylon defector.

Now, what about Starbuck!?! This part of the storyline really caught me off-guard. Who is that guy again? I forget. I gotta watch all the earlier episodes, which will be a pain since I didn't like many of them.

He's the guy who then Commander Adama had Starbuck interrogate. He claimed there was a nuke in the fleet and that if he wasn't released he'd blow it up. Eventually President Rosalyn convinced him to tell the truth with promises of freedom, but then became the first Cylon that she threw out of the airlock.

In te mean time, during the interrogation, Starbuck ended up caring for him a little. I guess he milked it, then had a test tube baby with her.

I swear I'm convinced the gunfire is a twist! The cylons are going to be shooting at the police force, rather than the captives. The Dean Stockwell character I am sure was planning something at the end of the episode. I can't read him - I wonder if the character is more sympathetic than originally thought.

Incidentally, is anyone having suspicions over how they get off the planet? I am guessing it's something to do with Maya, the amazing hybrid baby!

Roll on Saturday

I'm betting that the police force has a direct hand, and helps launch a huge, well armed rebellion, taking out the Cylons.

I dunno...Cylon Dean was planning something, if you ask me.

I know they've got a brave writing team, but killing Roslin would be just too much. Maybe Zarek, but I think people want to keep Richard Hatch on board for continuity.

Maybe I've seen too much of the old 1930's movie serials with 'twists' every week when the hero escapes the burning house/car/firing squad etc.

Still.....

I say it's a swerve.

Oh Rosalyn totally lives, so does Zarack and everyone else. I don't think Dean is planning anything that is good for humans though. I actually don't think any Cylon will do anything good for humans. It was once said by a Cylon that some have faults, but in the end, they always end up doing their duty. Not in this generation anyway. Maybe when Maya leads people to unity, everything will be lright.

Wow, I thought the police were gonna do something good for a change. Those bastards suck.

Ah. Kind of a swerve. I like the way they made Brother Cavil come back 'traumatized' after his third download (and how he managed to get to it). I also like the way Dorel was contemplating a 'final solution' on New Caprica.

The Hera situation is interesting, and the Galactica-Pegasus separation ceremony was very moving.

Another cliffhanger ending, again. Looking forward to seeing the CGI budget blown next week!

PS Baltar needs to use viagra? Things *must* be bad!

3.4 Exodus part II

I'm awestruck - just when the writing or effects couldn't seem to get any better, they did.

They kill off one long-standing character

They lose serious a piece of hardware

They have *insane* CGI/SFX

Incredible ensemble acting

Brilliant orchestral score

What the *hell* is this doing stuck on Sci-Fi?

What piece of hardware did they lose? I didn't catch that part. Do you mean Hera? I was really amazed that it went off with so few casualties.

And I never did like Ellen. I'm glad they killed her off.

I meant Pegasus! I know the thread says *spoilers* but I really didn't want to say it in case it hadn't been seen by a reader.

The only discordant note was at the end - this is really minor, but the Casey the kid's mother obvious had access to Crest Whitestrips whilst on New Caprica. I mean, her teeth were almost blue they were so white. They really need to keep the extras away from the dentists in Vancouver!

I have no problems with Cylons have a1 shade teeth, it would make sense, but humans on the run shouldn't have time for tooth bleaching.

Other than that - brilliant episode! I hated Tigh's wife, but I think she went out in the best possible way and you actually ended up feeling sympathy for her after the past 2 episodes.

Wonder where Cavil was this episode? Hope he's not written out cos he is my favourite skinjob.

Yeah, I was wondering about her too. I don't remember even seeing a copy of her in this episode.

I think she sees Helo right at the end. Fine. Probably won't be when she finds out about Hera though
