Next Generation Android: Actroid DER2 Fembot

Topic started on 5-10-2006 @ 01:08 PM by iori_komei

Yet another cool technological development from the
Land of the Rising Sun.

Kokoro, a Sanrio Group company specializing in the design and
manufacture of robots, unveiled its new Actroid DER2 feminine guide
robot at Sanrio headquarters in Tokyo on October 4.

Actroid DER2 is an upgraded version of Kokoro’s previous fembot,
Actroid DER, who has made quite a name for herself by providing
services at a number of events, including the 2005 World Expo.
Compared to the previous model, DER2 has thinner arms and a wider
repertoire of expressions.
The smoothness of her movement has also been improved, making it
now even more likely for the uninitiated to confuse her with an actual
human being.

Actroid’s limbs, torso and facial expressions are controlled by a system
of actuators powered by pneumatic pressure. Once programmed,
she is able to choreograph her motions and gestures with her voice.

I was wondering how long it would be until the next generation of this
android was built, and I must say I'm quite impressed.

Though I have a feeling some perv. will check under it's skirt when no
one's looking.

Ha! When the next generation of this fembot comes out, I think that actually the perverts will do more than just looking under her skirts!

...but sadly, this will quickly become a reality. Today's mens are far too sexually frustrated towards womens and objectivising them that the temptation is jsut gonna be too strong for some of us.

I'd be extremely cool to have a robot as somekind of sidekick that you can share your life with, but human-robot sex is insane!

It'll certainly please the robophiles, at least. Why did they give it that t-shirt for a robot? It's redundant.

I mean, everyone loves Hello Kitty.

Geek meets girl, geek loses girl... geek builds girl.

I doubt that I'd ever want anything other than the flesh-and-blood version, no matter how difficult they are to capture and maintain... although the Joliebot is tempting, I admit. But what about that STUPID tatto, FCOL... "Lady Croft" indeed. Her and Nick "I named my son 'Kal-El'" Cage should be locked in a box together!

Thank you. Needed that.

Shades of Stepford Wives - a great book when it came out - but lost its edge when (public perceptions of) reality neutralized the impact.
