Mac OS X Users: Should You Treat it Like A Mac or a UNIX Box?

I've always used Macs (at least after I gave up the Apple ][), but I'm also a pretty good UNIX guy, having always worked in a UNIX environment (mainly with Solaris, but also with AIX and Linux).

What do you think is the fastest way to get things done in OS X? Use all the standard command line tools like you'd do in UNIX, or use the GUI tools? It seems like a mixed bag to me, with the UNIX tools sometimes spectularly overperforming and sometimes likewise spectacularly underperforming the Mac GUI software.


Anyway, it was just something that came to mind and thougth would be a good question to ask here.
