I like to keep an open mind on both sides conspiracy/official info, but why hasnt the USA been attacked if these Muslim extremists really hate us?Our Government seems to have the public brainwashed into thinking that the terrorists only want to attack us in the most devastating of possible attacks"dirty bombs, nukes, highjacking planes etc".

I would like to think that if they hated us so much and wanted to attack us they would of many, many times by now with just simple suicide or IED bombs.Just watching the recent news I see grown men walking into schools and holding kids hostage and sometimes killing them.If terrorist's really wanted to attack us they could with hardly any problems,I could go to my local walmart or gun shop and buy gunpowder to build some sort of device in less then 24 hours? It just doesnt make sense to me.

This is something I've thought about myself many time's. Is it a lack of logistical infrastructure, due to the distance from the Middle East? Or, are the player's well enough connected to know that a major attack is being planned. Therefore, knowing better than to stir up our defence's with mere 'terror' attack's?

There is also the conversion, or should I say 'corruption' factor. Where they send their boy's in, only to find out that the decadent culture has turned them. In which case, only the most devout fanatic could hang tough. Which lead's me to the conclusion that perhap's both are true. The true fanatic wait's for the death blow, while the wannabe's fall by the wayside, unable to resist the decadence of their surrounding's.

But it's so easy to do,not that I would ever do it.But anyone of us as long as were not a felon of some sort could easily make a simple bomb that could do serious damage in a mall, school, live event, etc.

Sure there could be a few cells planning something huge but it just makes no sense that a few of these extreme muslim terrorist could'nt fly here and do some damage within a few days of being here. The resources to do this country harm are fairly easy to get as long as you dont make it obvious and buy a bunch of it in 1 spot.Believe me I don't want any attacks but if this was a war and they wanted to hurt us they probly would of many times by now.

Theres bombs going off left and right in Iraq even though it's pretty much a police state over there and they dont seem to have any problems making IED's

I've thought the same thing too. Why has'nt anyting happened?
I went on a cruise recently and had to go back through home land security when we got home. They hardly looked at our documents and NONE of our baggage was checked for anything. What if I'd bought a bomb in one of the countries we'd stopped at and came back home with it?
And don't think that things are checked that well when you get back on the boat from the foreign ports either. They're just lightly looked over and not checked well at all.
Makes me wonder why Bush says we're all so much "safer". And what about our southern border? Lots of illegals come in that way, why not a terrorist?

Most of the Muslims living in the United States are proud to live in a country that espouses freedom of religion. They appreciate the liberty that they have in a country like America, and they would never think of attacking the freedoms they share with their other citizens.

Not every Muslim is an extremist, most just want to live their lives like the rest of us.

Well it could be that they don't really hate us but hate our foreign policies. They could basically just want us out of there countries and needed something like 911 for us to get our troops over there so they could show us how they really fell about it.

Im not talking about the Muslim's that live in this country,Im talking about Muslims that hate this country. Its not that hard to fly to this country and figure out a way to attack it without having some grand plan that takes 2 months. It could take 2 days to do something, they wouldnt even have to sneak anything over, everything they need to make a simple IED to lets say" blow up a Mack truck carrying a payload of fuel" is readily available over the counter gunpowder that anyone can buy.

If terrorists were really after us on US soil, there'd be more attacks, and there'd be some amount of terror. Anyone can just walk across the us/mex border, and get what they need for IED's off the shelf at Wal-Mart and/or Home Depot.

So far all you hear about is the occasional koran being found in the desert to keep the boogeyman fear level up. If terrorists are after us, they'd be working in teams beltway sniper style, all across the country. It'd be easy enough to do if you keep on the move, i mean Malvo stayed in the same area and was able to operate undetected for quite a while, causing some pretty real terror, more than terrorists have caused on US soil.

Would they be waiting while the US continues to occupy muslim lands, while God W Bush launches the post-millenium crusade? There'd be at least one lone nut who would have blown up a taco bell full of college kids or a busload of old folks on the way to bingo if we're to believe they're that motivated to destroy us, out of all the millions of terrorists supposedly out there, statistically we should have had a bonafide terrorist attack and not a backpack with a pipe bomb in an empty lot with nobody around.

There's plenty of ways to cause terror on a low budget and if you tell me they're either not smart/skilled enough or don't have the budget, then why are we wasting 400 billion dollars to keep a stupid incompetent "enemy" lacking resources at bay?

Hey, we need somewhere to dump all that DU, right?

Attacking the US directly would just provoke us to use even more overwhelming force. They learned after 9/11. They can do a lot more damage to us by hampering our goals over-seas.

The U.S. government has made it a point that they have kept "major" terrorist attacks post-9/11 from happening again (so far).

If they were inclined to start creating more terror attacks in the USA, those who support the War on Terror in its current state would immediately lose what confidence they had left in current U.S. foreign policy.

So it is in the U.S. governments best interest to not perform another "major" terrorist attack on their own homeland. They would face far more opposition to their wars if this were to happen.

This has not stopped some of the more numerous smaller foreign and domestic terrorism events from happening post-9/11. The Anthrax attacks, the Maryland Sniper, the Shoe Bomber, the Smiley Face Bomber, The WV/Ohio Sniper, and the suicide bomber in Oklahoma to name some.

IMO, I think it's one of two reasons:

1) The threat isn't that big

2) Our soldiers/intelligence agencies/other are the best on the planet at their job

Aside from that, how insane do you have to be to attack or try to attack the USA? We torture, beat up, kill, and worse to any terrorist. The terrorist leadership probably just haven't found many that would be willing to do something so insane as attack us here in the US- even with the bs about 40 virgins lol.

There is no threat ,if there were we would of atleast seen some minor attacks in the last 5 years.

The terrorist is to busy running and trying to drive the soldier out from the middle east to even consider taking it to America. Where do you think those billions of dollars are going?

We're pretty much a handful for them right now.

Who r u going to kill first, a murderer in your house or ur worst enemy in your neighborhood?

Maybe the whole spinich thing was a terrorist attack by the MS13 to say do not mess with us and our drug trade? Keep in mind if Mexico controls 80-90 percent of the drug trade in this country building a 700 mile wall will not help them.

simply because the USA hasnt needed a significant attack....

WE were hit on sept11.. wow that was a major surprise... enough of a surprise to instigate an attack on a chosen enemy...

after years of insgnificant attacks.. we find ourselves in a quamire... without any reason to start a major campaign...

I get the feeling the usa knows another attck is coming.. we cant continue the plans until another attack happens..

so they decide to leave the mexican and candian borders WIDE open.. hoping another attack happens...

anyone who believes the USA governemtn isnt aware of the problems is severly brain damaged..

if we WaNTED to defend the country,we 'd secure the borers.

being we arent, means we are WAITING for another attack..which will obviously instigate our plans...

god help america.. cause clearly the people of american cant figure out for themselvs that there govvernment has higher priiorities than the population.

There is no threat, its all just part of the Governments plan to keep us scared, so that we will keep pumping money into "Our National defense," when the money is actually used for secret govenment programs. Wake up and smell the cofee people

We have seen some 'minor' attack's in america. There have been a couple of guy's who started running over people in their SUV's and one guy who shot a bunch of Jewish women up here in seattle. All self declared jihadist's.

I think the main problem for them is that it is hard to get organized in this country without bringing some attention to themselve's. Like amfirst said, they probably find it much easier to operate in a country where they can blend in, like Afganistan or Iraq. As well as receive supplie's from surrounding nation's, like Iran & Syria.

That being said, I think there are crack team's like the 911 hijacker's here. But their mission is far too important to draw premature attention. We really can't afford to under estimate our enemy. It only take's one crude nuke to really mess up our economy/government. Just imagine wall street/capitol hill vaporized. They know that IED's and shopping mall's will just galvanize us, like 911 did. They're goal is our total destruction!

If, like some people believe, the Government is behind this don't you think that they would have staged a few attacks since 9/11 to keep the people believing in the threat? I think it is going to eventually come out that the reason there haven't been any more attacks in the US is that Al Qieda is a little busy right now, in Iraq and Afghanistan and doesn't have the resources to spare.

- They haven't had to. At first all they had to do was change an alert level and fear and panic would grip America as a whole. As the population got desensitised to that they upped the warnings, and specifics and each one was geared towards maintaining the fear that was created on 911.

Heck even Jon Stewart makes usual banter about it..
Scare America

- There is little doubt that the terrorists are more occupied than before in the middle east. But really what resources do you need? $300 and a true hatred for the Freedom you all enjoy, or at least used to? Nah, if there were real threats from inside America there would have been hundreds of attacks by now. You don't need a heck of a lot to frighten people(The ultimate aim for terrorism right - terror?), especially in the situation right now. Which is the way they want it. A frightened populice is an easily controled populace.
