In This day and age is it ok to be UN-PC?

Considering the times do you think its ok for say..the FBI to go into a pilot traning building ...look for any arabs to question...or to have more strict searches at airports for arab people...yes very un pc and discriminate ...but what if we did this before 9/11?

you're talking about racial profiling and the cops have been doing it for years. I've mentioned this a bunch of times but I'll mention it again as it seems appropriate.

a few years prior to 9/11 there was a rash of car jackings near the miami airport. the car jackings often resulted in murder and the cops were told to be on the lookout for young black men aged 18 to 35 or something close to that. Anyway, the cops began pulling over, detaining etc practically every black guy they could. The community was outraged and CNN did a story about it. All these african american leaders were interviewed and they all expressed outrage and disgust over the seemingly random method of detaining young black men.

Fast forward to the months after 9/11. The arab american community is outraged over the scrutiny they were being forced to endure whenever they flew. Other passengers wouldn't fly with arab looking men, airport security was clearly paying closer attention to the arab looking passengers etc.

CNN ran another story on this new round of racial profiling and they brought back many of the african american community leaders they had interviewed in the first story. Every single one of them said they understood and agreed with the scrutiny the arab looking passengers were being subjected to. Every one of them basically said "it all makes sense now."

Is it right? Not exactly but let's be honest. If you are one line of defense against the potential for an attack and you know that the attack is more than 75% likely to be pulled off by an arab looking individual, is the middle american old lady going to be screened in the same manner as mohammed from pakistan?
