First of all, I know this isn't the correct forum, but I don't know where to post it, so i'm sure one of the great Mods will move it

OK. So, i'm 24 years old, i'm living in the UK and i'm looking to make a nice sized amount of money fast.
The reason is i'm wanting to go to University.
Its a private University in the Heart of London and all though I know I will find employment when I get there after a few month I need to either earn a substantial amount now or find some financial aid.
The Cost per year is around £13,000(not great on the currency converter but thats $24,500 i think - probably not. Loans are not a possiblity and although i can arrange £8,000 of the yearly costs, I still run at £5,000 less than required amount.
I have talked to the University and as it is a Private school, they demand the fees up front(per term that is).
Other schools are not an option either.

I was wondering if anyone new of any legal ways to earn this money as quickly as possible, as currently the work I do falls far short(hence £8,000) and the start date i am looking for is January 07.

PS if you do have ideas or information but don't wish to post them, please U2U me

Thank You in advance

Take all the money that you have saved up to date and go to a gambling casino. I wouldn't suggest playing the slots. That would take too long and there is a real danger of developing an inflamed ulna tendon from pulling the lever.

Instead, I would go the roulette wheel, put all your money on 27 Red (or black...your choice). If you win, you will have plenty of money for school and maybe enough left over to buy a snazzy sports car. Of course, if you lose, you will lose all of your money and it will be a clear sign from God that you were never meant to go to University. Hmmmm, thinking about this, I think that if you followed my advice, to the Tee, it would also be a sure sign from God that you were never meant to go to University. Regardless, this is my advice....the choice to follow it is yours.

I have a young nephew, who, when in between jobs, went to yard sales, estate sales,
etc. He bought things that were popular for collectors. Not expensive collector items, but smaller less expensive things..Like Salt and pepper shakers..(which, by the way is what I made my avatar from). He only bought the cheapest of the cheap.

The things he bought, were then placed on ebay. He actually made some decent money doing it..

Go to ebay, and see what collectors are buying. Maybe you could do something like that.

Actually ebay is a viable source to make money. If you have the time, and want to do the work. You can buy a car on ebay and then part it out. You can easily make 10X your money back. That depends on the quality of the car/parts and the need. Some good cars are Mazda RX-7s and BMW 3-series'.

Has anyone ever done something to you that caused you harm or financial loss ?
Were you sexually abused by a teacher or clergy ?
Any accidents or falls that were not you fault ?

If so, sue the bastards responsible and negotiate a cash settlement.
Cha-ching........

bodrul, pardon my ignorance, but what is/how does an 'e-commerce' site work?

is it like one of the online stores where you sell basic items and they are sent from a warehouse? the only problem i see with those is that everyone who has those sites have pretty much all the same items for the same price, so there is a lot of competition.

I'd try Ebay if I were you. Go look for some stuff that you don't want/need and try to sell it. Theres a chance someone really wants it and will pay good money for it

it can be diffrent things

examples are

web hosting (you purchase or use a free reseller account) you provide webhosting to people and make money from that minus the costs or fees of the reseller account

Ebay
you can use ebay to start your own small shop where people can bid or purchase your items straight away

direct from you
you can create your own site and put items for sale

there may be alot of competition but you have to remember e-commerce is worth over 43 billion pounds and rising every year
so its good to exploit the fact that a large percentage of people by goods online.

if you want to set up your own e-commerce site
here are a few tips

1. what you want to sell

2. will it be cost effective (revenue balances or out balance the costs)
sometimes using affilates (example www.tradedoubler.com )
using that you can have affilates on your site and generate commision from every sale generated from your site, this is good since your not just rellying on selling items from your site which gives you two sources of income.

3. your host should come with a e-commerce option if not you can use paypal or nochex which are excepted globaly and take all majour methods of payment so thats something good to exploit

4. use the internet to your advantage you can practicaly reach millions of people by concentrating your advertising properly (join forums and so forth adding your site to top lists)

posibilities are endless

if anyone needs help or any info drop me a PM

E-Bay kicks butt! I go to antique stores, garage sales, auctions, etc. I buy stuff cheap and sell it on E-Bay for many times what I paid for it.
As an example: I bought an ashtray at an antique store for $10. It looks like a fireplace and has a chip of stone glued on it. I find later that that piece of stone is actually from Hitlers fireplace and only 45 of them were ever made. I sold it on E-Bay for $350.00.
I bought an Atmos clock at a garage sale. The minute hand was snapped off, but still there. I paid $5.00 for the clock and a guy in Beijing bought it for $385.00. He even knew beforehand that it was broken.
One mans trash,,,,,,,,
