It's just a way to get you hooked on their product and then buy it.

Chances are you really do have spyware. Everyone does.

Go to yahoo or google and type in SPYBOT. They have a free spyware detector that will wip spyware from you system. I use it and it is very good. AND TRUELY FREE. It will help stop some popup ads for a short time and can increase you browse speed slightly. You do need to run it about twice a month though.

1. The routine that prompted the pop-up may well have seen Spyware on your machine, you may well be regularly sending signals to several trackers, but you never know.

2. Pop-up ads for programs that purport to kill pop-ups are as funny as the 10% of spam that I get now that promises to kill spam.

3. I use Ad-Aware. It works fine. And I even let it get rid of the clint.dll that is needed to run Kazaa Lite, and replaced it.

4. I don't know enough about keyloggers, but when I positively identify the individual/s who have attempted to get into one of my PCs to identify and observe me, they will find that there is more to pain than either physical or virtual.

If you are running a messenger service....MSN is the culprit usually...then you will see a lot of pop-up like it in the future. Microsoft is putting in numerous spywares lately...Service Pack 2 at the update site is full of it...their media player has spyware...Google is spyware...although they use to be better about it...but no more. I use Spybot to kill ads...you just have to be careful of which ones you "immunize". If you have a real version...hehe...of Real Player...then it won't work without it's spyware. There are alternative software packages that will do the same as the "spyware" filled software...you just gotta look around for them. Nope...nothing wrong here...I learned how to build a "spyware" free computer....and whatever you do...never...ever...ever go to porno sites.....they send in trojans and even viruses to control your computer.

magestica... I can guarantee someone is " spying inside your computer", that is what spywhere DOES. EVERYONE has some kind of tracking cookie at the very least on their machine due to browsing. it's prevalent and will usually get installed after every net browsing session.

Someone mentiones spybot........... also grab adaware and run that too. Both of them will normally pick up the stuff the other one misses.

Give it a go and see what you find, I'll guarantee you there will be at least something by " redsherrif" , a well known spyware company, and some other stuff,.
