What Were You Doing When You Were 12

When you were 12 what was on your mind, or what might have you been doing? Wondering what it will be like to go to a new school? Running home fast after school to play a board game? Or how about giveing birth to your second child?
That is what has happened to this one 12 year old. The same man has fathered both children. He is twenty one years old.

'Well, it happened by accident, so I had to give birth to my child,' says Bashtam Gorbunenko as she shrugs her shoulders. Bashtam lives in the village of Komsomolsky, in the Volgograd region. She turned 12 in February.

Bashtam gave birth to a baby boy several days ago. It is her second child, she gave birth to her first-born son Mitya a year ago. Bashtam was 11 at the time (article).

I read this and I was at a loss for words. Any western country would call this abuse. And then I rembered, another country reduced the min. age for marriage to 9.

I wasn't even aware that 12 year old girls were physically mature enough to carry a child. Let alone height/weight issues...

Personally I think it is disgusting, But im sure there are a few belief groups that think this is alright...

Not just 12, she had her first child when she was 11, so it is possible she concieved at 10. And yes it is disgusting.

As as to those groops I know of only one where it is leagle to marry at 9.

When I was 12, all I was doing was watching Dragonball Z, playing with transformers, swimming, going to school------- I didn't even watch xxx then!


At 6, though, I was getting beat up by big Russian guys, drowning in waterholes, stealing stuff, finding dead body, seeing people catch fire by accident...........etc

At age 12 it was a bit different then at age 6 and age 17. It was more peaceful then. From age 9 to age 12 was a peaceful, uneventful time for me. But the years preceeding and exceeding age 12 were quit bad.

From your second sentance I would say you could just about start a thred of your own about that time period and it would take off.

At 12, I was:

* Climbing mountains with my dog by my side.
* Working at my first (volunteer) job - milking cows on a farm.
* Being the thorn in my brother's side. (what else are sisters for?)
* NOT having sex.

And the point is people should not be haveing sex at 12. And I am glad it seems no one hear apears to think so.

Well, if she understands it, than I don't have much of a problem
with it.

I knew it was possible to give birth at young ages, but that is odd
to hear.



Oh, and when I was 12 I was,

-Arguing with my teachers.
-Watching anime.
-Getting off more times a day than I could count.
-Tring to seduce one of my male friends.


Yeah, I don't remember anything else except those actually.

I was from a small town who had alot of emphasis on Little League baseball. The 11 & 12 year olds were the main focus and I played on the team that year. We were lucky enough to Host the National Championships that year and the winner advances to the Little League World Series.

We lost in the championship game 2-1 in front of almost 30,000 people.

Not too much of that summer I don't remember.

Well, I for one was having sex at 12. Of course, pregnancy wasn't an issue.

Other than that, I was playing video games, watching cartoons, going to school, making great grades, playing piano, listening to music, reading, and baseball.


I knew the consequences of my actions though, and seem to have developed ok into a functioning human being, imo.

I was living in Bogota' Colombia (South America) as my parents were both missionaries.
It was one of the most exciting times of my early teens living abroad in a foreign spanish-speaking country. The whole experience made me appreciate that no matter how poor or helpless I may get here in the USA, I will always be better off than 99% of the population there.

Well, when I was 12 I was:
Going to school, eating large quantites of food/candy, planning world domination, methodically figuring out how to get around all of my school's security measures, being the most lazy, and possibly, the smartest student in the bunch at my school.

Oh yeah, and reading up on Nuclear Physics.

On the whole 10 year-olds having sex thing, I remember reading somewhere that the youngest mother in the world was 4 years old at the time of birth.
The Mother lived through it, the baby was healthy, and the Mother grew up thinking that her child was actually her brother.

I think that the mother was raped or something, and the guy who did it was never caught.

Disgusting, I know, but that's life.

I was having hot gay sex with my local Congressman.

I don't think I can even remember...perhaps something about hating being in the middle school band in which my mother enrolled me in.

I found a dead body at twelve years of age and I know that it is something that still bothers me today. But six? Like I said before...yikes!

For me, 12 was a pivotal year.....it seemed that everything that could happen -- intentional or not ..... happened to me when I was 12.

I found a dismembered body in along the River in Rouge Park, I inadvertantly destroyed a single family dwelling, I "accidentally" blew up a Parks and Recreation storage shed, I recovered some lost keys and was rewarded with a life-time pass to the Irving Theatre (a neighborhood theatre in Detroit) a few years before it became a porn theatre (by then I had befriended the projectionist who still honored my pass even though I was only 14),
I discovered two different victims of suicide (one, a neighbor and the other while peering over a fence). I had three paper routes (i hired two other kids to handle two of the routes....I fired them both just before Christmas so I could get all the Christmas gifts) I lost two of my best friends (after all, I fired them).

I know that this seems like an action packed year for a twelve year old but, believe me, it wasn't even half of it.; All I can say is that I still remember the year I was 12 quite well. Today they call it Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

When I was 12 I was going to see KISS at Madision Square Garden in late 77'

Nothing.

Really, I just sat in a small room for an entire year. Bloody boring I can tell you that.
