According to these articles, the unearthing of the "Cascajal block",
an ancient Olmec tablet which dates to around 900 BC., predates the previously known effort in the region by 300 years.

Is there anyone on here that can help shed some light on what some of those symbols mean? Maybe some of them look familiar, I know some of ya can read hieroglyphs and such.

This certainly isn't the most exciting discovery but it goes to show we're constantly uncovering something new in our ever changing world.
