Breaking News:Philadelphia high-rises evacuated over explosion

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - An apparent utility malfunction on Thursday caused an underground explosion that forced the evacuation of several high-rise buildings in central Philadelphia, Fox television news reported. CNN quoted the FBI as saying there was no apparent terrorism link. The network said the three Philadelphia explosions came as the electric company worked on underground cables. There were no reports of injuries.

Everyone seems to be ok. They dont believe this is terrorism.

I am glad that everybody is ok, that's all we need Bin-laden blowing up more buildings so close to congress elections.

Cnn just said over 4000 people has been evacuated. Three high rises are in trouble.

Rotolo said some parts of the surrounding area had been sealed off by police. She would not comment on media reports that the explosion was caused by an electrical fault. The cause was not immediately known.

So which is it? Fox and Cnn says they know what happen. This person is quoted saying they dont know the cause.

Anyone in PA. That has more current information?

Sad that they need to specify whether it's a terrorist attack when so few explosions actually are. Just the state of things today. The media sux.

a whole lotta over-kill, is probably what the evacuation order will be viewed as...

on the other hand---people not following guidelines & safety procedures might be the real cause
(such as: leaving a volitile cleaning fluid in an enclosed space where an electric panel is located)

but then on the other-other hand, AQ or islamo-fascists or sleeper cells, are not the only terrorists...........

who 'graduated' from the Muslim brotherhood which is practised and allowed to be promoted in the US Penal system.
Lot's of prisons release those felons who converted to Muslim in the prison community....
which leaves the possibility that 'home-grown-terrorists', who can weave into the fabric of the American society with barely a notice...
just may be honing their skills and passing on the knowledge-->
