How many Republicans here who are pissed off at Politically Correctness?

I was just wondering who here doesn't give a flying frock about the Polictical correctness?

I think its ok to racial profile in airports....the middle eastern people are the ones blowing us up right?

And another thing, its ok if i don't happen to like homosexuallity...its a sin and thats how I feel.

Anyone else got some more PC stuff we can talk about?

Political Correctness demands we tolderate immoral, bad and illicet behavior in the name of tolerance.

Why should we be tolerant of bad people?

On the other hand PC makes fun of everyone but Catholics and other religous people the most.

I believe that we should be able to use racial profiling in anti-terrorist efforts.

When blue-haired caucasian grandmas start flying planes into buildings or blowing themselves up in the market square, we should add them to the racial profile list and watch 'em like hawks.

I think we should racially profile too. Generally, what color and gender are those depraved vile child molesters that ruin the lives of thousands of youths?

I personally don't know, Colonel. But if you think you are about to broach a subject in which you've got me in a big gotcha...you're not.

I believe that there is probably AMPLE data available to do a VERY good profile on child molesters. And I personally believe, they would be caucasian males. Furthermore, if you get into serial child molesters I believe it would probably come out caucasian males 30-50 years old (I pulled that out of my ass, but I bet it's close).

THEN, there would be OTHER determining factors to apply to this...say, 30-50 year old caucasian males who are still living with their mothers and buy at least one porno mag a week...probably Hustler.

And then, I would add, if they aren't already watching the above described people as potential subjects when they have a case of child molestation where the above suspect works, lives, frequents...they're idiots.

That is why I say, on the first pass, if they aren't currently weeding out the blue-haired caucasian grandmas from the possible terrorist suspects...something is wrong.

your points are not missed by me, but they are not in line with the original post of this thread.

We are not talking about "judging" anyone. We are talking about employing logic in law enforcement and investigative efforts.

There is a great big flapping difference between the two. I can absolutely not judge you at all as a person and still include you within the circle of possible people do to the actions you take, the heritage you have, and the historical data that makes those characteristics "ins" instead of "outs". That does not mean you get judged, that means I use my head. Logos.

and a subversive method of filling necessary quotas...

So pulling over black men in cars that are expensive would work too huh? Tell me something, what is the demographic of violent crimes involving petty drugs and murder?

saying something really bizarre and unfactual does not instantly make it so. Repeating it doesn't either.

Political Correctness is a horrible idea, but so is profiling. How many times have I had run-ins with the law enforcement when I was minding my own business because I look different? A white young-20s man with blue hair, painted fingernails, and body art seems to be just as high on their list of people to bust as anyone else. Just because someone fits the description of someone who looks suspicious doens't mean they will do something wrong.

No...but it certainly does up the odds, now doesn't it? You have to look at this from the other point of view...a stranger doesn't know you from Adam.. When someone looks at you, just as you do when you look at them...an initial first impression is formed, stereotypes assessed, and a quick judgement call is made...whether consciously or not...(and whether it's wrong or not) If you don't want people to treat you like a certain stereotype, you're not helping by purposefully falling into it.... Obviously, there is a reason you dress the way you do... Putting up with the flak simply comes with the territory...it's pros vs. cons. Otherwise, once someone gets to know you, they'll be able to rectify their initial assessment....

Political correctness is a good idea that basically went horribly wrong, even the majority of the people who it is supposed to benefit think it's now a grotesque joke, that however doesn't imply that because it's not working we should abandon ideas about tolerence, rights and choice and revert back to the bad old days.

So you don't like it but is that saying that because someone is racially different, queer or of a middle eastern, muslim persuasion they're not entiteled to the same rights and equalities that he enjoys or does he mean that he may not understand/like or relate to these people but he'll still afford them the respect and equality they deserve within the bounds of common sense and common decency. If the latter, I agree, the former then I don't.
