Valhall!!

have we met before?

somewhere on another internet line... in the mist of internet space...

my past nick names in chats have been 'kingburgs'
covenant chippy' 'sappy burgess' 'property of jesus'

and maybe something else...

what does valhall mean?

Well,

1. No, I don't believe we have met. I do not recognize any of your names.

2. Valhall is the alternative, and shortened version of Valhalla. Which was the sanctuary for the dead warriors in Wagner's "The Ring". I don't like the 3 syllable term, so I chose the shortened.

3. How does this relate to Bob Dylan?

For me, Bob Dylan is a visionary. His Lyrics from the Sixties seem timeless even today. In particular, the lyrics of his song "Masters of War" seems like it was written this morning:

Partial Quote:
"Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks..."

Bob Dylan is a king, Complete legend. He's a poet, his lyrics and his tunes are both incredible. He is a song writer the likes of don't appear often.

I used to dislike Bob Dylan b/c I thought there was no one uglier on this face of this Earth, that his music was slow and discombobulated, and his voice was horrid....

As I grew up, I kept hearing more and more about his influence on music....so I borrowed one of my parent's old albums...Planet Waves...

I was hooked - He's the most incredible singer and songwriter I think our American culture has produced

Arguably, Bob Dylan's song & video "Subterranean Homesick Blues", released in 1965, is considered the first rap song & the beginning of "attitude music."

I like some of the songs that he wrote but were made hits by others, like Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower".

DAN BERN is, in my opinion, the heir to the "folk rock mantle" given to Bob Dylan by Woody Guthrie. Passed from Dylan to Springsteen, Dan has picked up the mantle with his unique style and lyrics. Of course, if you love Dylans' stylings, you won't be disappointed. The fact that Dan Bern sounds so much like Dylan at times is only a coincidence, it's just the way Dan sounds. Give Dan Bern a listen, you will not be disappointed.

Dan Bern has toured the US, Canada, England, France and Italy to critical acclaim. Furthermore, Dan, with his band the International Jewish Banking Conspiracy tours and often opens for Ani Difranco (who also produces Dan's music on her independent label). Give him a listen.

I was born on Bob Dylan's birthday! (May 24th)

He is an Icon, really. If you can't stand to listen to him, read his lyrics.....they're pretty profound. Excellent writer and philosopher. I hope he turns to writing books in his old age.....I think he'd be really good at it .
