I've always considered myself a liberal, but it seems as though the political spectrum isn't a line, but more of a circle.
Until I started following alt news sources, I was an avid democrat, but then I realized that both sides(parties) agree on too many of the same
policies.
I am far too anti-snooping to be a Big Government fan in that respect, but I'm quite far left of moderate when it comes to healthcare, corporations
being able to moderate themselves (ala food safety, monopolizing, polluting), and gay marriage.
But...I believe that gay marriage isn't a leftist sort of argument (like the war on drugs) because it's a "government shouldn't tell me what I can do
with my body" argument, which is a libertarian argument.
I'm also really worried about religion in politics.
I've realized that my political beliefs are a huge part of who I am, and they don't fit into one party AT ALL. It's a little disconcerting when the
MSM doesn't realize that I'm extreme on both ends, if the political spectrum were a line.
Anyhow, I like this thread a lot, thanks for posting.

EDITED AGAIN: I would also like to add that I'm in the South. This makes me a political minority and leaves my voice mostly unheard in all
elections.
