Word opens then closes straight away.

Hey everyone i am having a problem with microsoft word. It opens as normal then closes after about 5 or so seconds.

What Operating System? (2000, XP, etc).

Assuming one of the two above, do you know how to look at the Windows "Even Viewer"?

Is that all that happenens? There is no error box that pops up with any dilogue? Just, simply gone?

Are you able to do anything in Word before it closes, click a toolbar button even?
If so, does it still close if you do nothing?

Does it happen when you open an existing document or when you open Word to make a new document?

If its only happening with Word, and not other programs than that indicates it is a problem with Word and not a problem with your System.

So if this is the case I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the program. See where this gets you.

1st things first. Reboot your computer and try again. That might take care of the problem.

Let me know asap if it don't - I have to leave for work soon.

It's ok a computer guy came and fixed it apparently there was a problem with a file called normal.dot. Thanks for your help though.
