BFM = Basic Fighter Manoeuvres

GCI = Ground Control Intercept

BVR = Beyond Visual Range

WVR = Within Visual Range

ROE = Rules of Engagement? Correct.

NCW = Network Centric Warfare

PIRATE = Passive Infra-Red Airborne Track Equipment

COP = Common Operating Picture

ELINT = Electronic Intelligence

COMINT = Communications Intelligence

Hope this helps

It does.

Thanks for taking the time to write it out.
Maybe I can keep up a little better now.

Hi All

Me again. I was in Atlanta a couple of months ago and saw some F22 and some FA18 flying circuits.
One thing I have to say is that I had up to that point not actually seen an F22.
Looking out the office window the hornets were difficult to see front on or even side on and the noise was ok if a little loud for office work.

The the F22 flew past and OMG that thing is huge ........... The sound was incredible.

I know Dozer claims /states / asserts or whatever the position of the USAF is that Raptors and Typhoons have not been in the same airspace at the same time, and even if they were the raptor had the transponder on etc.

The RAF has had Typhoons co-located with Raptors for nearly two years. Guys from 17sqn say these DACTS took place and Dozer says they didn't. hey go figure. BUT if the raptor is as easy to see with the mark 1 eyeball as I saw it with my own myopic eged peepers, then in that famous phone booth is not where your Raptor pilot is going to want to be.

OK I know the Raptor will kill you from a gazillion miles away etc etc etc, but if it doesn't, hey that thing is huge.....and Noisy...

Great looking plane too btw...

I felt so priveliged to see one fly ... way too cool. All my kids were jealous...Didn't do any work either ...
