UK Wizard deducted some points from me because I responded to a post with a question:

Are you saying that if the US and Israel attacked Iran, the US and Israel would lose?

It was due to the "one lined response rule".

What else could I have added, more question marks????????????????????????????????????

There that isn't one lined any longer.

I understand why mods do this, but my suggestion is that they differentiate. Sometimes a one line post is just that, a one lined response.

Well the idea is that you shouldnt be posting anything if its as small as one line in size.

Waste of space, and it usually means you dont have much to contribute with that one line.

Have you sent a u2u to him?

And we have a complaint button at the top of the page for this kind of thing,

Please in future use that feature,

Thanks

a tip, that many members do when replying in very short words, break it down into two lines.

i do it some of the times in the NWO section when sending congrats to members

example:

[members name]

Excellent work! keep it up

i know what your saying, sometimes, you have to reply in short words. breaking it down is a good thing to do
!

Um, no. That still looks like a 1 liner imo, just broken up.

BTW, the way 1 liners work, as I seem to get it, is if there is NO contribution to the thread.

"Member X, this doesn't work because supposition Y disproves it."

That is a 1 line response BUT it adds to the thread, commentary can continue.

"Dude, you rock."

That's a warn.

That being said, I could be wrong, just my take on it.

And please, leave off of the ?????? or !!!!!!, or ((((())))))

That adds nothing either.

Or you can just eliminate the need to be overly emotional in the first place before submitting a response thereby giving what you have to say enough depth. I find that all one line posts usually requires a question of clarification from someone else. You could, for example, do what Simon Gray did and ask two questions instead of just one as in "Could you clarify for me what you mean by subject headlines? Are you referring to forum descriptions?"

You know, I was just thinking that and yes that has happened perhaps way too much in my humble opinion. This is, after all, a website about analytical speculation at the conspiracy level as such the overall theme of ATS demands original content.

Let's not forget about mistakes world watcher. I tried to edit the first one. You must not make any, too bad I can't be an expert on ATS like you.

Whats wrong with one line responses? This must be the only forum on the internet that "punishes" you for posting a sentence. Totally ridiculous! Will we have points taken away for bad grammar and spelling mistakes next?

It happens dude. I asked a member to remove a link in his siggy because I missed 2005 for 2006. He pointed it out and it became a "non-issue." We aren't perfect man. But I'd wager still the best damn staff on the Net.

Reread the thread for your answer and NO. To start with many of our members use English as a second, maybe third language. Why would we do that?
