The current cease-fire is fast becoming a reload period for the Hezbollah, while talk of disarming Hezbollah continues and the task of disarming being handed to the Lebanese army. Concerns over the fact that Syrian channels are supplying Hezbollah with more weapons have U.S. officials worried.
WASHINGTON — Iran has been attempting to rearm the Lebanon-based terror network Hezbollah since the U.N.-backed cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel took hold earlier this week, two U.S. officials told FOX News on Thursday. A U.S. arms control official said it appears that Iran is using Syrian channels in its effort to give Hezbollah weapons it has used in the past, including Chinese-built C-802 radar-guided anti-ship missiles. Military observers said a C-802 was used successfully on an Israeli naval vessel off the coast of Tyre on July 14. The arms control officer and a senior American counterterrorism officer both said the U.S. government is "very concerned" about the "ongoing" effort.

Israel's Cabinet approved the U.N.-brokered cease-fire agreement Monday after 34 days of clashes across the Lebanon-Israeli border that began in response to Hezbollah kidnapping two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid and killing three others. Israel retaliated with air and ground strikes throughout Lebanon in an attempt to disarm the terror group, often taking criticism for causing civilian deaths. Hezbollah retaliated by firing 4,000 short- and mid-range rockets into northern Israel.

Some have questioned whether the Lebanese army will actually disarm Hezbollah. with a fresh supply of weapons coming in from Syria it seems unlikely that the Lebanese army would have the stomach for such a task and sympathy for the cause of fighting Israel may make the task a pipe dream.

The US is rearming israel with those bunker buster bombs, so it is no great surprise that hezbollah is taking this opportunity to rearm as well. The US companies could make nice peace of change selling weapons to israel rather than giving them away as part of a foreign aide package. If peace is desired, perhaps it could be acheived by the US, China & Russia not providing weapons to ME countries.

These enemies will keep fighting as long as they are continually rearmed.

And Iran are preparing themselves for the upcoming attack from USA because of their invisible nuclear weapon program, so they must weaponize Hezbollah to keep a deterrence against such a move from the US. It's just logical and everyone here would do the same.

Hezbollah has no reason or incentives to disarm.

For one, they were not founded as a political party, they were founded as a militant organization. So, what would they get out of disarmament? Nothing, they would get less than what they have now.

I cannot see Hezbollah ever disarming, becuase the simple fact is they are a militant faction with seats in office, and not very many seats.

Hezbollah agreed to disarm under the cease-fire deal and now they re-arming, if Israel chose to do so they would have the right to start firing on hezbollah for that reason alone. furthermore we have yet to see the kidnapped soilders returned, why not?? what are they waiting for???

this could drag on for a long time and IMHO if the missing soilders are not returned soon the fight will resume not long from now.

Because Hezbollah is waiting for an exchange since the beginning of this conflict and Israël want Syria and Iran to enter the conflict but it didn't work in the first place so they'll go after Hezbollah AGAIN in the next few weeks.

First off Hezbollah did not dis arm last time they were supose to. So why would they do so this time? So Isreal could use that very fact to start a new compain.

Second the Isreal solders have not been returned and it is unlikely they ever will be with out massive compensation give to Lebonan. For some of the background on that look hear,'

Third, not all of the people of Lebonan want Hezbollah. For some more info on what happened to the border towns in Lebonan and the people who are there look hear,'

The US takes advantage of the militarily weak, so you bet your sweet arse Id try to acquire an advanced weapons capablity for my country. And I bet that Saddam is wishing he'd of had a boat load of WMDs to use as a deterent to US aggression.

You won't see the brave war heros in the white house adding China to the "axis of evil" list.

He had it in the Gulf War many years ago, but when the U.S. liberated Kuwait he didn't use it...I wonder why, o yeah America's nuclear arsenal.
