Oh boy do I have a lot of ground to cover now that the original date of the protest was proven to have taken place 3 years ago and also with the further proof that the protesters were NOT peaceful. I was first informed about this incident through the alex jones podcast last week, he was speaking of the incident as it had just happened a day ago. Alex Jones has lost some of his credibility in my eyes because he misguided me to believe this incident was a recent occurance. This also taught me a lesson that I have to do further research when presenting information. My bad.

Navy Seal, good work.

LOL Yes you are missing something. You're confused because you missed the point of what I was saying.
Put it in context by reading the post I was answering, and maybe you will get it...

Where do you get that my old man was a nazi? And what do you mean it explains a lot?

If you think I'm the nazi then you are comepletely confused.

Thank you very much jeepin4x4girl! Glad to see you agree with my view.

I have a question though, what exactly was Alex Jones' view of the incident? Did he pretend the protest was 100% peaceful? I don't read much of Alex Jones' view on anything other than 9-11, and since then I have had some respect for him. It wouldn't be a good thing for him if he was spreading disinformation on other subjects.

The only 'proof' you have of the protesters being violent is the word of a cop.

How do you know the cops didn't insight it. It happens at a lot of protests.

Did you even read my posts of cops being violent at protests?

It seems you guys want the protesters to be the bad guys, cause you are totally ignoring anything that proves the cops are the instigaters. I can hear your frustration coming out in your posts, LISTEN TO ME, LISTEN TO ME, LISTEN TO ME, ignore the truth, LISTEN TO ME...

Man you are really ignorant**. There is video proof of the violence, and photographed proof of the destruction of property, and more...

refer to this post that you probably ignored because you are so close minded.
www.abovetopsecret.com...
Please view the first three video links.

You really think the police want to be "instigatOrs"? You really think they want to arrest people, so they have to do 4 hours of paper reports for each arrest? Then show up in court for each arrest? They don't, they just want to let you do your thing, and move on. Even if the people do get violent, you can NOT blame it on the police, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

Man, I really regret not actually putting ANOK on ignore...

Moderators, you need to close this topic... it has been decided by the OP that the protest was not peaceful, which VOIDS their constitutional rights to protest.

This is beyond *SNIP* up... everyone knows how i feel about this government... the actions taken by these police and there immediate reactions afterwords speak volumes about the everyday mentality of the average riot cop.... these people are either taught to be this way by their trainers or the police is recruiting some seriously sadistic people... either way this is a sure sign of our movement towards a possible Fascist Police state... remember Fascists don't hate Jews.... they were capitalists..... separate the two concepts.... Fascism is like Capitalism except that instead of just being a market style it is also a system of government... corporate control..... and Police state is easy enough.... watch and be appalled...

And Nygdan your response has to be intentionally inflammatory as it is totally illogical and counter intuitive...

Permits.... for free speech.... that is an encroachment... I do not need to get some paper signed by the government when i am attempting to redress my grievances with my fellow citizen.... While i can understand having to get a permit for advocating for Blue Jello on Airlines.... I simply cannot accept that one has to have a permit before one can protest the actions of ones government.... that is simply antithetical to the concept of free speech.

As per your caviler attitude towards the woman who was shot in the face... I can only say that you simply do not recognize the kind of cognitive and psychological bravery that that woman possessed and demonstrated.

I've seen numerous people on here shouting of what they would do if they were there... and while it is admiral that you think that you would try to do the right thing... in actuality when faced with the reality of the situation and standing alone as others ran or retreated... you too would withdraw.... rubber bullets hurt like hell... speaking from experience.... its worse that a paintball at near point blank range.... that and the sure gravity of the situation is designed to instill fear... and coupled with everyone else leaving... that situation would be very difficult for anyone... my self included.

Either way... there is something wrong with this country and it is beyond time that we fixed it.... I am not advocating a removal of the right and installment of the left.... we need a paradigm shift in this country.... but that's another topic

Great find but very appalling......

I do agree with your view for the most part, aside from the video clip at the end when the cops are congregating around the tent and laughing about shooting people with rubber bullets.

About the Alex Jones podcast, I do believe I still have it on my iPod (unfortunately, older podcasts get deleted everytime I go to charge it). So if I can find it, I'm wondering how I can get a snippet from the whole podcast about alex jones talking about this particular incident. He was going on trying to portray this incident as peaceful, that our rights are being taken away from us everyday, soon we will be in a police state, NWO, etc. etc.

Do you, or anyone else for that mattter, know how to save snippets of audio clips on iTunes podcasts? You guys need to hear this.

Okay, I've done the best I could using the limited resources I have available on my computer. I used the 60 second recorder on my computer and found the two times alex jones mentioned this incident.

Heres' the files.

BTW, if anybody has this podcast from August 17th 2006, maybe you could record the snippets better than I have done.

The protest looks like it was on a public street.

The protesters were asked to disband they did not.

Then (She) the red shirt women stood in the middle of the street and defied police.

What do you expect.

It was a volitile situation and she made it worse.

I hope she spent time in jail and fined for her actions.

Demonstrations should be allowed only if it does not interfear with other peoples rights.

The protestors were interfearing with the rights of other individuals and had to be disbanded before things got out of hand and criminal damage to persons and property occured.

The police did the right thing, yes the rubber bullets hurt, and yes the red shirted lady got hit in the face, bummer. She lived to tell her story.

If she had listened to the orders given by police she would not have been hurt, it's her own fault.

Be thankfull she doe not live in China or Russia or she would have been shot dead for her actions.

Why do you have to be so rude? Go ahead put me on ignore, I really couldn't care less.

I've already explained why the cops WANT to arrest ppl, but I have a feeling you didn't read it. You are convinced the cops were only protecting the peace, I have shown that that is not the case at most protests. Nothing has been proved, all you have is the word of one cop. Is the cop going to say "Yeah we instigated the crowd into becoming violent'? Of course not.
I'm surprised you fall for this so easily after reading your thoughts on 9-11. If you believe our own gov would attack us, why is it so hard to believe that cops would also?

I have shown proof of accesive police violence against protesters, did you read it?

I have been there, I have been arrested. I have seen it first hand. I have provided links backing my claims. Who is the ignorant one here?

Find out for yourself.

When your protest becomes violent, you void your constitutional right to assemble.

Grow up... wake up... get a clue. "Blah blah blah"???? How old are you, 2 years old? If you are going to post stupid comments like that you might as well just do us all a favor and keep it to yourself. Learn how to debate, listen to what I have to say. You are saying blah blah blah because you know im right, you know that the protest got out of hand and the police are doing their job to end the protest, but you are ignoring that.

Put yourself in the shoes of the police. This is the year 2006, this is America, the police are governed by laws just as the citizens are. This isn't the 1930's and 1940's Nazi germany. Hitlers SS Henchmen sworn eternal faith to Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler had a religious agenda, and disliked the Jews.

You cannot compare the police of America to Hitlers Henchmen, WTF are you thinking? Do you see American police officers pin pointing the Jewish people and murdering them for being Jewish? Get a damn clue...

--edit--

Let me give you an example.. Me vs You. Say I went to your house, started fires in the front yard, spray painted graffiti all over your house walls, spread 100 pounds of trash inside your house, broke a few things in your house like signs and picutres, and threw stuff at you. I'll wear a mask during the whole thing.. What are you going to do to stop me? You can yell at me to leave, but when I don't, what will you do?

[edit on 22-8-2006 by LAES YVAN]

For starters what were the people protesting do you know?
if you think that police in roit gear telling their mates to push spray and then use sticks and the guns is usuall police matter you are wrong.
Those police are funded by the neo cons do you know what they are?
The police tricked people in a new york protestand went too far by placing individual in containment camps for over 48 hours, is this usaull police work terrorizing individuals after holding them for over 12 hours then demeanng them and after that has been done for a number of hours get the questiosn rolling for all to answer.

your example shows your baltent ignorance on world issues human rights and common sense.
Watch that video again and tell me all those people deserved the force that was put on them if that was yoru mom getting sprayed sticked then shot at you wouldnt think the same, or even if you were not conditioned to be a follower of your society.
Be aware that this is just the begiining and when you have masked men takin your liberty away I hope you feel like it was something that is just someones job to escort you to prison for having an opinon.

Some more incidences of police violence for you to ignore...

Police pushed protestors with batons and eventually began using canisters (resembling fire extinguishers) of pepper spray. They also fired rubber bullets (.50 caliber "sting balls"), by some accounts point- blank at folks who were standing nearby and not doing anything threatening or illegal.

Fred Nemo of Critical Mass told the Oregonian, "The police responded to a joyful ride with massive over-reaction" (August 31).

www.portlandcopwatch.org...

"Our guys were standing in one area waiting to go to work, and then the police started firing on the longshoremen,'' said Henry Graham, the president of ILWU Local 10. ``Some were hit in the chest with rubber bullets, and seven of our guys went to the hospital. I don't want to imply that the police deliberately did this, but it doesn't make sense.''

"I was just marching in a big circle and the police lowered their guns at us,'' said Scott Fleming, 29, who took off his shirt to reveal four large red and swollen welts on his back. ``I turned to run and I started getting hit with wooden bullets. They just kept shooting at us, and I kept running. I'm a lawyer, and I'm seriously considering filing charges.''

"I got hit a few times with rubber bullets,'' said Dan Siegel, an attorney and member of the Oakland School Board. Siegel pulled a sting ball out of the pocket of his business suit and said he was outraged that the police fired on a peaceful protest. "The police totally overreacted. It's over the top. They were reckless, and I also saw an officer on a motorcycle run over a woman's foot.''

"I was there from 5 a.m. on, and the only violence that I saw was from the police,'' said Joel Tena, the constituent liason for Vice Mayor Nancy Nadel. ``What happened today was very surprising. It seemed the police were operating under the assumption that they were not going to let any kind of protest happen.''

LA Police Sued Over Democratic Convention Protests

www.commondreams.org...

$2.75 Million Proposed for Cyclists Arrested in Protest...The arrest of 71 bicyclists who staged a protest ride during the 2000 Democratic National Convention -- and the jailhouse strip-searches of the women -- was an embarrassing episode for a Los Angeles region striving to put on its best face as host of the political jamboree...

"Out of the blue, they cornered the riders and ordered them off their bikes," said Ron Milam, executive director of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, who was arrested. "There was no warning, no message to disperse. It was very scary. I mean, we just went on a bike ride. How did we end up in jail?"

Anyway I thought you were here to debate? Everytime I post something that doesn't fit your illusion of 'protection' you either ignore it, or you make coments ^ that have nothing to do with what I posted.

As far as I'm concerned the debate is over, because the original poster agrees that the protest was not peaceful. Meaning their constitutional rights are void. I didn't care about anyone except the O.P.

I can say the exact same for you. My video evidence and photograph evidence and other evidence, contradicts with what you think.

You have ZERO proof that all protests are peaceful when the are stopped by police.
