Dgtemp, do you believe every bit of bad news, every conspiracy theory that someone throws out? IF you do you must be wound tighter that a 8-day clock.

I stayed that way while my son was in Fallujah, I know the feeling of doom. He and all the Scouts came back. ( Prayer works)

Do you really believe that any of the News Media outlets have your/our best interest at heart? Haven't they been caught again photoshopping, making things appear worst than they really were? Peace doesn't make them any money.

Doc Ropers Rx for Dgtemp; Step away from the computer/TV/radio, get fishing equipment and find a nice lake. Oh yeah, two big bottles of tequila, don't come back until the tequila is gone.

Do you remember the Clinton Adm. going into the low rent housing and looking for guns? :

Clinton?!

Blame shifting is little more than self-deception in order to evade responsiblity, solves nothing and makes you look foolish. We tend to blame, because we lack problem solving skills. Blame is about the past (spilt milk) and problem solving focuses on the future. When you point a finger at someone else, remember you'll have three other fingers pointing back at you.

As for the topic, it's typical fear mongering hogwash. Gonzales can go sell his "boogiemen are in closets" idea to the wind. If he was so hell-fired concerned about Americans' safety, the borders wouldn't be wide open and corporate America wouldn't be encouraging illegal immigration in record numbers. More like El Speedy is just trying to drum up support for the wiretap boondoggle, now that a Federal judge has ruled against it.

Apparently the muslims slaughtered in fallujah didnt pray hard enough. Do you believe that God picked your sons life over the lives of the muslims that were killed at that location?

Do you really believe that any of the News Media outlets have your/our best interest at heart?

Of course not. Do you really believe that this is a valid defense of the government?

Haven't they been caught again photoshopping, making things appear worst than they really were?

Fox news has been caught making things seem better than they really were and the US military admits to spreading misinformation. It appears that we are living one big freaking lie which shouldnt be real surprising given that the powers of corporatism own both the media and government. Despite appearances, government and the media are allies not enemies.

Peace doesn't make them any money.

War makes vastly more money for the military industrial complex and oil companies than it does for the media. As has been pointed out before, more votes were cast for "american idol" than were cast in the 2004 presidential election. The media doesnt need war to make money from ignorant americans.

don't come back until the tequila is gone.

I tried that method. Unfortunately after i sobered up the same media and same government were spreading the same lies. Most americans think that monica gave clinton a fallujah under the desk.

Well we're closing in on election season, so of course the Republicans are ramping up the fear offensive, the terror alerts are coming back, etc etc... I think, frankly, they've given up even trying to hide the fact that fear of terrorism is being used as a political tool.

Here's an interesting video about terror alerts being used as a political distraction.
And an article about how the Republicans plan on using the fear of terror to minimize their losses in the 2006 election cycle.

And yes, the Clinton Administration played the same game.

I don't know why everyone thinks anyone who opposes Bush must be a huge Clinton fan, IMHO he wasn't as incompetent as the current crowd, but for civil liberties especially the Clinton Admin was terrible. It must be the LGF/WND meat-robot effect: anyone who criticizes Bush must be one of those dreaded "liberals"... (watch out, the liberals are hiding under your bed!)

Regenmacher, I am merely pointing out history and it is foolish of you not to understand that. It is also foolish to think that the communist/socialist Democrats have changed their position on US affairs.

df1, yes I do. When the Marines went in most of the civilians had left.

I hope you stay on you road to recovery but what I said about tequila was a joke.

P.S. To celebrate freedom this week, I am going to buy a stripped lower for a AR-10

There are people all around the world that wish they could do that.

Tell that to this Muslim doctor who got kicked off of an airplane for reciting his evening prayers.

www.cbc.ca...

I'm sure he'll appreciate the freedoms that the dominant social class in America enjoys.

Yeah sure, merely playing the blame game and trying to derail the topic is more like it. Another part the blame game is when caught, go into denial mode and make excuses. I understand far more than your ego will allow you to assume, so you can drop the juvie head games. I have seen it too many times already, along with usual trolling and flame baiting.

It is also foolish to think that the communist/socialist Democrats have changed their position on US affairs.

Both parties swung left and both parties are responsible for driving us into a debt ridden kleptocracy based on corporatism. Change comes when people tire of the DC blame shifting puppet show and demand accountabilty from those presently on the top. They don't deserves any damn excuses or blame shifting, they work for us and they are suppose be responsible!

One would believe that if he were a real thinking man he would consider closing the U.S. Mexican border to eliminate the possibility of terrorists walking across with all their equipment. Although it might make his family reunions a little harder to have.

How about closing the Canadian border as well, and the ports, and the airports, and all means for foreigners to enter the country...then build one big wall to keep the "barbarians" away...

The family reunions remark was distasteful...I'll have to add.

Closing the borders (btw the canadian border has very little security in comparison to the south) is not the answer...
