The photo was taken by United States Air Force Tech. Sgt. Russell E. Cooley IV on May 16, 2006 while over the Atlantic Ocean near Charleston AFB, South Carolina. The massive USAF C-17 Globemaster III released the flares and flew off, leaving the flares' smoke to highlight the wingtip vortices.

That is amazing.
I assume it was taken from the back door, because the c-17 in the picture is facing the camera?

thats a pretty cool photo.

and cheers nygdan another pretty cool avator even if it did take me even longer than last time to put it up. hope it doesnt look to odd with the purple back ground.
