Did anyone watch Most Haunted Live At Halloween last night?
It was on Living TV - I think only UK can pick it up, not sure.

What did people think of it?

Near the end they were outside and asked people in the 'crowd' if they had seen anything strange. A lot of people said they saw a ghost figure crouching down in front of a gravestone. I didn't actually see this, I only saw the last hour of the show. Did anybody here see this?

If so, did anybody record it on VHS or DVD or something? I don't know if this is easily possible, but could somebody put it onto the computer and upload it to the Internet so other people could see it?

Derek's a complete arse. Programs like these won't ever show anything really overtly strange.
I prefer watching horror films and such for things like this as it's a case of fiction really being stranger than truth.

Did you ever see Ghostwatch in 1992?

I have heard of Ghostwatch... Here on this forum as a matter of fact. Does anybody know where I can get hold of it?

I am living in the UK, but can also play any region DVDs if needed.

.... oh not most haunted live ...

I've seen that a couple of times in the past. Although it is interesting in parts, its still like a large pantomime.

And that psychic guy who can talk to the spirits, well ...

Wasn't Yvette supposed to have seen something last night?

I love Most Haunted, Yvette losing it and screaming in hysterics, Derek Acorah camping it up and who knows one day they might get something.

Sounds cool infinite...

Is that a DVD you bought? Or is it one you recorded yourself?
If it's a DVD you bought, I may see if I can get a copy.
I haven't actually watched the normal Most Haunted show that isn't live, perhaps I should watch that sometimes.

I remember Ghostwatch. It was announced and advertised as if it were a one-off live experiment, with not one mention that the whole thing was fiction. I recall there was one genuinly scary part when they were filming in the 'haunted house' and one of the cameras picked up a ghostly figure in the corner of a bedroom for a second, and fot the first half or so the program seemed to be genuine. However, by the time it ended with the studio falling apart around Michael Parkinson it was pretty clear the whole thing was a sham. It was mentioned in some programme on TV this earlier week, and looking back now I wonder how we could even have been vaguely fooled. The special effects seem to have been taken straight outta the Dr Who handbook.

Anyway, it's sad the TV never treats this subject in a serious manner. A serious and factual show of the same nature would have been far more interesting...even though you probably wouldn't have had people being attacked by poltergeists right in front of your very eyes!

Even the programme on UK Living, which is an attempt at a factual ghost-hunting prog, is thrown into parody by that witless woman presenter, and the blonde psychic bloke who comes across like some kind of gay semi-professional magician who specialises in kids parties.

I once spent a week unknowingly living in a haunted house. Things happened and things were seen, but I didn't find out about the history of the place until after I'd left . That's when it all clicked into place and I realised I wasn't going mad but had be witnessing ghost activity. If only I'd known and rigged the place up with cameras I could have made the most gripping two hours of Ghost TV EVER broadcast. Now why doesn't someone with a production company find a situation like that and film it!

That's because they still don't really take it that seriously.

TV's unfair stance on the paranormal

Especially this part: We have written to the ITC, but are told that anti-paranormal programmes don't have to be balanced, but pro-paranormal programming has to feature both sides of the argument!!!! How damned unfair is that?

But the minute you rigged up the cameras', no matter how spectacular the incidents were before, the activity would stop dead or become ambiguous at best.

This subject has a definate *thwart* factor built into it, as though conclusive evidence can only be gained on a personal level, not collective. It almost seems deliberate.

Manalive. Surely that's Paranormalist? There's an 'ist' for everything these days y'know. I'm sure if we were to telephone Brussels we'd find out there's an EEC law banning such unfair discrimination! Pass me 'The Big Book Of Ists' "!!!!

Wow, some people other than myself who watch Most Haunted!!! Actually, it's true, most of the program does not really have anything scary in it and Derek can be annoying but it can be quite interesting. Yvette has been interviewed about it and swears it's all real... even Vic Reeves (brit comedian) was on there and had some wierd experiences.

In my opinion the Live ones are worse...they're not as reliable with all those people there and the boring boring commentaries by historians trying to fill in the time when nothing is happening.

But on the whole the series is ok -at least from the point that I've got a long list of places i can go to to see what it's like for myself.
