NASA no longer knows the whereabouts of the original tapes of man's first landing on the moon nearly 40 years ago, an official of the US space agency said.

"NASA is searching for the original tapes of the Apollo 11 spacewalk on July 21, 1969," said Ed Campion, a spokesman for NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, a Washington suburb.

What?? So what about history? What do you all suppose happened to this?
A little strange? An organization such as this loses something as important as this?

It does seem very strange. But a spokesman from NASA said that they do have the recordings on other mediums, so they are not completly lost. The other forms are lower quality than the originals of course. Someone is getting fired!!!!

the other forms of media they have left are the broadcasts which were a camera pointed at a TV screen playing the originals. what a joke NASA is.
