The number of posts was actually lowered to 500 by Springer in order for the forum to be considered. That's a tall order, but you never know. We might actually get there.

I will cast in my vote also for this forum.

All things automotive would be great. Reviews of autos, perhaps insurance pitfalls, perhaps even audio and car care like washing and waxing tips? Alternative fuel sources.

I would cast my vote FOR..as long as it kept to the ATS standard of investigating.. eg why certain innovations seems to be kept from the public.

Also the increasingly important ecological vs economical debate

The Automotive Forum will be an addition to BTS, so that it can be informal and fun.

This is a conspirecy site afterall...I too would be curious to see what sort of inovative technology may have been tucked away...

so let's keep it rolling...I'm all for it, even though I am on of those people who think the yellow light means go faster.

Like it alot!

So we need 500 posts from different members saying yes.. OR a thread with over 500 posts?

Grad, YES, not because I have any passion for motorized vehicles(except 4 wheelers) but just for the same reason I go car hunting with my Hubby.
He likes it. Go for it.

So, we need 500 different members voting yes?
And so far we have 126?

Is that right so far?

Yes, but what we really need is some demonstrable interest in all things automotive. Chit Chat has been most often mentioned as the appropriate place for automotive threads and I suppose that might be so, but most people really don't think automotive when they see Chit Chat. I think they think small talk and not serious discussion.

At any rate, if people who like automotives and all things self-propelled would start making interesting threads in Chit Chat, then I think that would be something demonstrable to go along with the petition, which isn't exactly burning the house down.

Okay, all your constant whingeing got me.

I'll put my hand up for an automotive forum.
Good stuff.

Oh c'mon now... there was much less interest in a PTS Canadian Politics forum and yet we got it, why can't we have a fricken automotive forum when there is like 20 times more demand for it?!?

I have an idea then. Lets all take over Chit-Chat with threads titled like this.

(Auto Forum) Tesla Roadster

Lets just do it like we did it for the Canadian Politics forum!

I'm going to start, I'll be back to post the threads in here in a bit.

(Auto Forum) 5 Year study aims to study impact of 'Green' Cars

If all of us who want an Auto forum post at least one Automotive thread per week, Skeptic will see the demand much more easily.

How about tagging Automotive threads with Auto Forum as well?

Tag away

Bad idea. If we were to get an automotive forum the tags would become redundant because when you search for a term called "auto" the tag list would be extremely extensive if too many were tagged like that.

Grad I just found out there is a "Television Forum" ???? You should have your Auto Forum. I have voted once so this doesn't count.
But if we have a "Sofa Veggie Feeder Forum" all the Motor vehicle nerds have a safe place here.
Perhaps we could gain some advice?
