I doubt that any answer would satisfy you, if you don't already know.
It's a car thang, you woudn't.... Oh, never mind.
Would it be about auto-conspiracies?
The proposed Automotive Forum would be a part of BTS
, which is the fun section of the ATS universe and has
nothing to do with conspiracies.
I just don't get it.
See answer above.
Also, why has Springer reduced the amount of votes needed to get this forum up?
Springer, being a an automotive enthusiast himself, has stated that he likes the idea of the forum, but that the three amigos need positive assurance
that such a forum will fly before they go to all the trouble to code it and all.
Springer reduced the number of votes from one astronomical number to a lesser astronomical number, because of member pressure, or whining, I think he
called it, in order for the forum to be considered.
One million votes would probably do the trick, but even one million votes would only guarantee consideration of the request, not its
I'm just very confused. Can someone please explain?
To go beyond the automotive interest component, I will explain some of the protocol involved in implementing member ideas.
The Automotive Forum is a project supported by the Deny Ignorance Steering Committee
Members offer suggestions to DISC members either by the thread above or by other means
and DISC considers the matter in a private forum in concert with admin. Many ideas never make it out of committee because of various problems with
the implementation of the suggestion or because admin feels that the suggestion is not appropriate. Sometimes a suggestion must be broached several
times before enough support coalesces to make the issue worth our while and even then no one is obligated to support the cause.
Change is slow on ATS sometimes, but the views of the membership are important and receive all due attention in committee, even when they are not
ultimately supported and as I said earlier, support sometimes comes, but only after several efforts.
This is how the Automotive Forum became an item of interest on ATS. One member made one suggestion that went nowhere. Another member eventually
offered the same suggestion and enough support had emerged to make the endeavor worthwhile and so some DISC members and some board members have taken
up the cause and are having fun with the effort, even if it turns out to be for naught.
Are you getting the picture?
ps, this is not a vote, yet.
Too late. You already signed the petition by posting here!
